SUNL ATV
I bought a SunL 70 (artic blue camo) for my daughter for Christmas from raceway - that's what they call the XL 70 or mini 70 - it says SunL on the front and SLA 70 on the left side. It didn't take long to put together or to get running. The choke is easily accessed. It pulled my hefty rear with no problems. It hasn't really been used tho as it will be a surprise on Christmas, and I will know more after that. The fit and finish was better than I expected. The remote is neat - car alarm and remote cranking/stopping.
The XL 50, 70 and 90 from raceway are the same dimensions with different engines. These are small atvs but noticeablly larger than Kazuma Meercat's. I think raceway is out of all but the 90cc. I bought from them because of praise I had seen on this forum. And, sure enough, some of the LEDs in the tail light were shorted upon receipt of the unit. I emailed raceway, was responded to and asked to call. I did and was told they would ship me a new tail light.
I've seen similar bikes nearby at a used car lot. They don't say "SunL" but look similar. I've also seen a few at another store and these said "BMX". They cost more locally - at least near me. I also suspect that the local guys who are into selling used cars or whatever, would not be as interested in warranty claims or parts orders.
I do however, wish it had a true governor. The throttle screw ("pseudo-governor") is fine for slowing it to a crawl on flat paved surfaces but it doesnt give you access to the engine's power for hills and the like. I suspect this bike would pull a 50 lb kid around at 35-40 mph with the screw opened all the way. I will have to find some happy medium.

billl2099 sorry about no one getting back to your email about your need of the light bulb. We have been real crazy with the Christmas rush. 1st I would like to say we have plenty of bulbs in stock. Feel free to say what ever you would like about our company or anyone else (it's is a free world) But I would just ask that you do some research on us and our service before you tell people to Beware of us. It happens to be the busiest time of the year and we have been addressing the more important matter at this time to make sure everyone gets what then need for there little ones on for a special time of the year. I am not even sure if you have bought the ATV from our company?? But if you did or not I do apologize for our staff not getting back to you email, but again I ask that you do not comment on us if you really don't know us. Sorry if I sound a little strong in the post but I do take it VERY offensive when someone talks about us in a negative way when our staff works very hard and long Hrs. to try and help everyone that they can. And one last thing the bulb is not a Sunl exclusive! But after your post I really would not like to tell you what major band will interchange with them!

first of all i didn't say beware of buying from raceway,if you read the post it say's buying atv's we might not be able to get parts for in general. second i did buy a 90cc sunl from raceway if you look at my other posts, and i purchased from raceway because of the so called good customer service, but now i wonder, it would have been a lot easier to reply and said yes i have the bulb call us at xxxxxxxxxxx with your cc and shipping information. i could have brought the atv from e-bay or the local street vendor for less but i know i wouldn't be getting any service after the sale, thats one reason why we purchased from raceway, now we have doubts. as far as the bulb, i tried my best to get it local,3 auto parts, two motorcycle dealers, one parts and service and also tried parts unlimited catalog, then i e-mailed sunl, they show it on their web-page,but got no reponse from them, so raceway was my last hope, and you failed me.

Bill, I e-mailed Raceway with several questions concerning buying my son a new quad for Christmas about 6 weeks ago. I never got a reply either. Which is fine, I ended up buying a new Kawasaki KFX 50 from a local dealer, so I have no doubts about future parts and service. It was more expensive up front but will be worth much more at resale time, so it'll be about a wash in the end...

You cant rely on email alone. Raceway is very busy at this time of year. They must get about 1000 emails a week and can not get to every one. Thats what the phone number is for. If it is busy then you just keep trying. I know John is not trying to avoid anyone. He does have great service. I have delt with him many times and he has never let me down. I know many many others that have great luck with them. Yes I tried calling many times and the phone is busy but every time I got through I was able to speak directly to John and he was able to help me. Not that I have had any major problems but things like bulbs, spark plugs and small things.

billl2099 I dont believe we have failed you. Emails are being returned as fast as we can. Like I posted we are just trying to get to the most important ones at this busy time. I am sure by next week it will be answered or just send another or call and we will get it taken care of. Maybe I did read the post wrong! But my feeling stay the same when I think someone is talk wrong about us!

I had a recent experience with Raceway that I consider a positive experience . Great customer service. I ordered 2 mini 90cc's both arrived within a weeks time. One of the boxes was really badly damaged and the ATV was also damaged. It was after hours at Raceway so I dropped an email telling them the condition of the ATV. I asked them to please contact me ASAP to relieve my anxieties. Danielle contacted me within 15 min. via email assuring me not to stress out they would do whatever I wanted. Be it, send parts(plastics and whatever else) in order for it to be ready for Christmas morning or to replace the unit with another but it may not be at my home for Xmas morning.
I asked if I could just return the broken one b/c there is a local guy that sells them, although for more $$+Tax. Danielle said absolutely and made arrangements for the unit to be picked up that afternoon.
I call that great customer service...My $$ were refunded once they confirmed the carrier had the ATV..
Thanks Raceway .

billl2099,
A word of advice from someone who learned the hard way...if you want responsive customer service then pick up the phone and call the company. I don't ever recommend using email for anything critical or that is time sensitive.
I can see how you might be inclined to find fault with a company who didn't return your email as quickly as you would like them to or within the timeframe that you think that they should. The problem is email is unreliable and usually takes a day or two at best for a response if you even get a response! Sometimes the email ends up in a spam filter somewhere. I know...I administer our spam filters. These companies may never receive your email. I don't think its fair of you to go on a public forum saying a company let you down when you never actually called them.
I called Raceway today about a part for an evaluation ATV. They offered to FedEx the part overnight. I told them no because I didn't need it that quickly. But you have to admit that you can't get any better customer service then that.
I'm sorry...but I have to disagree with your assesment. I think you just made a less than optimal decision on how you chose to communicate your needs with Raceway. Sending Raceway a private message via the forums is more reliable than email!
As far as SUNL, like any manufacturer they have to protect their dealers. No ATV manufacturer or distributor will sell direct to a customer. That's standard practice in the industry.
Not being able to purchase the bulb locally shouldn't be too much of a frustration for you or other folks. Because everyone has to consider that they saved over a thousand dollars on the ATV compared to if they had chosen to buy a Japanese made machine. Folks can't buy an inexpensive Chinese made ATV and revel in the cost savings and then turn around and complain because they can't buy a light bulb at the local auto store! I'm not picking on you I'm speaking in general. What I'm suggesting is a subtle shift in how people think about these ATVs. If you buy one of these ATVs from a good dealer who stocks parts and you plan to call and order parts when you need them -- I think the overall experience is going to be good.
Call John at Raceway tomorrow -- he'll take care of you.

My experience with raceway
I had really screwed up on my online order. I wanted 1 XL 70 and accidentally ordered 3.. ooops lol.. well I called raceway and spoke to Danielle. we ended up calling each other several times over the next two days till we got it fixed with my bank and the money put back in my account. now none of this was in any way their fault but they really did step up to help a guy out.. just when I thought we had everthing worked out Danielle calls me to say they were out of the 70 and offered me a 90 at the same price as the 70. one week later I had my new 90..
so all I can say is THANKS Raceway from a VERY happy customer...
