I think mechanicly they are pretty much the same, what you will find is the yamoto is shorter in height and a wider bike. I had my boys site on both and even though the redcat is a cooler looking bike, they were both more comfortable on the yamoto. Friends of mine that have bought the redcat have had to add wheel spacers to get the safer wider stance.

That is what I am trying to find out. I tried to post a similar question on another forum (Raceway) but no one has answered it. I am having some carb issues with my Redcat 50cc atv. I found a local repair place but they only do Yamotos. I have seen pictures of Redcat 50cc atvs with engines that said Yamoto on them.

When comparing the Redcat models what I have seen is they have two types of 110's and 150's
The Redcat SFX 110 is the Kazuma MKII 110
The Redcat VX110 is the Yamoto 110. Here is what I noticed with the Redcat. The rear spring is mounted differently than the Yamoto's. However, I have not seen the new Yamoto's for 2006. With the spring for the Redcat and the way it is mounted you will have more travel in the rear suspension than the Yamoto's.
The Redcat FX-150 MKII is the KMZ-150 Kazuma equivalent.
The Redcat VX150 is the 150 Yamoto equivalent. But again look at the rear spring and how it is mounted. Once again I have not seen the new 2006 models. Now I have a Boreem 150 which is mechanically identical to the Redcat VX 150. My Boreem has a 5 inch travel at the rear spring. The Redcat 150's reverse gear is mounted on the rear axle.
Now as far as reliability for either model will depend on how well you maintain them and hard hard you ride them. Run a search in the forum to see what other people are saying about the models listed above.
For the Redcat 50 (KMZ50) it should be the Kazuma Meerkat 50 if I'm not mistaken. Call John at Raceway for any help or info concerning your Redcat 50.
Also post the problem that you are having with the carb. There are many people here who can help you.
