use a chain tensioner like hetrick or anybody else dealing in perforance parts has "spring loaded wheel".

 

Hi I have a 05 SLA 90, I workd at the local dealer setting them up and preping them . The one I have had to be modified in all the ways you spoke of, and more.
Still have problems?

 

Where can I get a spring loaded tensioner? I have searched, but have had no luck.

 

A spring loaded tension will not help, you need a chain guide. I used one off a CR 80 chain has never had a problem after that.
