kazuma 50cc trouble
My son has a 50cc 4 wheeler that he got for his birthday in feb. yesterday he was riding it and it was running great, after about a half hour it lost power, it will idle but wont go when he pushes the throttle, it just chugs and quits, i put a new plug in it,cleaned the carb, and adjusted the valves, when we hit the throttle you can here air from the carb but i cant find the problem, dont know if it is the carb or electrical or something else. any help would be greatly appreciated

the kazuma 50cc meerkat has a service bulltin on the handle bar on-off switch, the switch gets moisture or water in it and shorts out, this sounds like what you're experencing. its easly to check out, their's two wire harness connectors from the switch, one is for the starter buttom the other is for the on-off switch, just on plug the one for the on-off switch then start it up and see if runs nornal or not, if thats the problem then you have a choice of replacing the switch or just leaving it alone and use the key switch as your on-off button. i ordered two switches but never installed them because i felt it would only happen again.

one more common problem with the kazuma 50cc is cracked or broken intake manifolds. to check to see if yours cracked look at it and if you don't see hairline cracks then start the atc up and at an idle spay some starting fluid around and on the manifold, if the atv dies or rev highter then i would replace the manifold, let us know whats happening with the results.

riding thru water alot of fun at the time but unless you sealed all the connectors you looking for trouble. so now we learn it water connected, what i'd do would be take all the electrical
connectors apart one at a time spray wd 40 or better yet di-electric grease into them and don't be afraid to use a lot. also wipe down the spark plug wire with wd 40. also i would spray the inside of the handle bar switch with wd 40. next time eaither keep out of the water or seal the connectors with rtv or liquid electrial tape. if you seal these connectors then you'll able to ride thru water and wash the quad without fear of it not starting

The switch problem talked about above is for 2004 and older Meerkats. For 2005, they reconfigured the switch (swapped headlight and run switches, so that's less of a problem these days (but still possible although I haven't seen it).
Sounds like a cracked or loose manifold. If it had a large crack, it won't start, so look for small crack. Check other easy things: make sure choke lever is fully down, gas vent tube not kinked, kink in fuel line, CDI or coil connections loose, etc. Get rid of cheap chinese plug and replace with NGK C7HSA @ gap .026".
Turn off fuel, pull line from carb, turn petcock on, and verify good fuel flow into a cup (warning: gas is dangerous). The side teather kill plug (inline with coil primary) may be shorting, but if the machine starts and idles, I doubt it would be this.
You stated you cleaned the carb and adjusted the valves, and that would have been my next step. Check compression over 90psi warm. Rare, but possible, is stator timing. After that, without daignostic test equipment, the only thing left is start swapping out parts.
You said that its starts and idles. Will it idle for a while, or just for a few minutes before quitting?

my son took his falcon 110 through the water and we had problems with idling and stalling. it turned out that the foam air filter was soaked (and since it was winter, had frozen as well). i let it dry inside for a few days, re-oiled it and reinstalled the filter, and the machine works great now.
hope this helps and good luck!
