40CC Eton Rascal need repair help
#1
The kids are heartbroken because the little 40CC Eton rascal bike is out of commission.
Symptoms the atv rear wheel is hung up, it does not move forward or reverse without some doing, as if the brakes are on, they are not. Normally, you have some compression starting the little bike via hand start but the pull start cord pulls upward with no resistance as if it came undone from the piece inside like old pull start lawn mowers do. I finally got the bike to roll forward and back but still no compression on the pull start. When I move it forward or back, I hear a ding, ding sound similar to a bell. It will not start was running fine the other day but I heard some clicking noise and thought the clutch may have an issue. now it will not move on it's own or crank. The motor sounds like it turns when I roll the bike forward or reverse but when I try to pull start it I hear nothing.
Any ideas?

What can of transmission oil does the 40CC Eton use? My trans is dry, tranny might be lock in gear.
Never mind I found it. For others.

Just an FYI My problem ended up being a clutch issue. The bike would move in gear and the clutch was broken up.
I will order a new one and pop it in. I'm hoping for the best.

Wish you luck on receiving this but no it was a piece of cake. The entire assembly comes out attached to the transmission and it can only go one way. I found diagrams online somewhere that explain step by step disassembly. I did not need to drain or add any transmission fluid. It took about an hour tops if that long. The rear bolt was the hardest to get too but all in all I'd rate it a difficulty level of five out of ten.
Once you see the diagrams you will be fine.
