90cc 2 stroke hard start when warm
#1
90cc two stroke in a GPX Raider starts great and runs good when cold....but shut it down and try to restart while its warm and you have to give it some throttle to get it to start....it runs rough then...but smooths out and is fine.
Where do I start? What do I do? I'm not real carb literate...but I follow instructions well...*L*
Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it could be running a tad rich.I'm not familiar with that machine but if it has a air/fuel mixture adjusting screw on the carb you might try turning that a little one way or the other to see if that will help. It's always a good idea before you start doing any adjustments to turn the screw in until it stops and remember how many turns it took to turn it in so you can always put it back to the stock setting if you need to.. If the bike has an electric choke that could also be the problem.

The bike is about a year old now, ridden very little, and always just here around the yard so far. It has a Mikuni M2A carb. I played with the air/fuel mixture screw a little, turning it out, but didn't seem to help. Is there a "ballpark" area from all the way in that these typically run at? And, can I hurt anything seriously by leaning it out too much?

I'd start with a good carb cleaning.
Remove it. Remove the bowl. Remove the jets and clean/blow out thoroughly.

Ahhh.....had a lil time to play with the quad today.....I always wondered if the manual choke was hooked up or not....and it was NOT. The cable end wasn't seated firmly into the brass fitting on the choke...so the choke was actually stuck in one place all of the time! I seated it down in the brass fitting, crimped it with a pliers and done!!! Works great now. Thanks for the help guys.
