I am looking at buying a used youth ATV. I am wandering should we get a title or anything with the ATV. I don't want to buy something if it may be stolen. We are going to look at a Polaris 90 2002 and a Arctic Cat 90 2001. What is it that should come with the ATV?

Some states don't require titles on ATVs. Texas does and I wouldn't buy one that didn't come with a title here. Check your local laws.

Welcome to the forum seamrog!

Like seamrog said Each state is different. Id call your DMV and see what is needed for your state. You could also ask other quad owners or at a local riding area.

It could also depend on size because I received a title for my Rancher here in MS but did not receive one for the TRX90.

I live in Oklahoma. I don't think they require anything but I a friend just bought a Yamaha and it had a title or a certificate of ownership that looked a little official. You could tell that the people he bought it from had actually bought it new. I was just courious to know if the Polaris or Arctic Cat 90's would have something the same.

When bought new it will have a certificate of orgin. It will start out from the factory and then the next name on it will be the dealership that recieved it from the factory and then the name of the person whom purchased it from the dealer and then the name of the person that bought it from the guy that bought it from the dealer etc etc. I believe each time it must be signed by a notory.... I wouldnt buy a used quad without it...

I bought my grandson's sunL 90 from A guy in AZ. got the title and everything. Went to the D.M.V. here in Nv. and they told me they don't transfer title's on off road vehicle's anymore. And if I were to sell it I need to give the person the origanal title and wright them A bill of sell. Different state's are different. Az. has plate's for their quad's Nevada doe's not.
