I placed an order for the Hyper Tuned shocks today (along with a 54 mm big bore kit). Did a search and found nothing on them, so I guess I'll be the first to post results/opinions on them. They also have a bigger spring and Marty is going to put that on the rear and revalve for me. Hoping to have a smooth riding Dinli soon.

I bought them hoping to get a bargain works style set for my son to race with. They are okey, but way too softly sprung if you are running extended a-arms or swing arms like us. My youngest weighs about 50 lbs, and they will work okey for him for awhile, but i had to stiffen the fronts up almost all the way, then i had to change the front shock oil out to a 15 weight shock oil to get enough dampening effect. the rear was low on oil and doesn't come with much of a gas "charge", so i drained it and also changed to fresh 15 weight oil. The rear spring was way too soft, so i had to use my stock rear spring (2005 predator 90), and it is good now. I don't think these will last long as my boy gains confidence and starts jumping higher... they don't have internal bump stop cushions. when they extend all the way out the internal pistons make hard contact with the inside of the shock. Good luck and i hope they work better for you. I hear you can also use the track shock off of certain year polaris snowmobiles as a good cheap upgrade. It is a FOX gas charged shock.

 

Thanks for the insight, I'm getting a heavier spring installed on the rear, so hopefully won't have to worry about that, might look into the oil also, plus I don't have extended A-arms or swinger. My plan is to keep the Dinli for a camp bike and for friends as thier kids get bigger. My boy is 11 now ( and over 5 ft tall) and is out growing it, he's really liking the 300EX.

 

Dan, what kind of oil did you use.

I got my shocks installed yesterday, had to cut and reweld the mounts, fronts were shorter and rear was longer, but over all they beat the hell out of the stock ones.
