Yamoto 150 getting no spark
HI,
My son has a fairly new and not abused Yamoto 150 ATV, it wouldn't start a couple days ago and so we tried to get it running and discovered there is no spark getting to the plug.
I checked the connections and they look OK.
I checked the thing that the spark plug wire comes from and there is no voltage coming from it or to it.
Anybody have any ideas?
He got this ATV used so I didn't put it togetherI really don't know much about these things and I guess it runs off a magneto?
Also back by the chain it has a set of what looks shoes for a centifical clutch, what is it.
I also read that there is a remote shutoff, could this be a problem?
Thanks!

shouldn't have a remote shut off, as far as the clutch, yes what your looking at is a clutch it's part of the cvt transmission, their's 3 parts to it , the variator which is mounted on the crankshaft , the belt that connects the variator to the clutch and the third part is the clutch, you can read and learn more about how they operate on the net, just type in cvt transmission , as far as no spark, has the atv been sitting out in the weather? has it been running and just quit or did you buy it this way ? the first thing i would check would be all the connectors and the handle bar switch, make sure all the pins are in place and not backed out of the connector, second would be the cdi, third would be coil, forth would be the stator, i have an extra cdi and stator i can loan you, if interest pm me and i'll sent you the details
