Possible to remove clutch without airwrench
#1
I'd like to work on my clutch myself to get it dialed in just right. Recap with those who've already helped. Alphasports 90 with 54mm,120jet,UNI filter, Technigas pipe, Red torsion springs, 30gm rollers, unknown clutch springs. Quad hauls all the way to top speed, but the lag is about 3 seconds.
I want to work on the springs myself to dial it in and just get immediate grab. Any suggestions on removing the clutch without an air wrench is greatly appreciated.

I did it once, the first time. It's kinda hard to hold tight enough. I think I used a screwdriver wedged between the variator and case up front and I can't remember what I did in the back. I would try to get my hands on a impact if I were you because it would be easy to tear something up the way I did it before. If you had a large band wrench for like a oil filter, to hold everything that might work. I had the same lag problem as you last year with a similar setup. You may try going lighter with the rollers if the belt will still carry out to the edge of front pully or you might have to lighten your clutch shoes while still using the heavier clutch springs.

If you have an air compressor, impacts are fairly cheap. Or you can try going to harbor frieght and buying an electric for cheap.
Anyways, this is a reason to buy tools, take advantage of it.
