Does any one have a Giovanni 250cc Utility ATV. I have just purchased one and would like to discus a few issues I am having with someone that has one also.

The gear indicator has been a problem for me and also keeping it from stalling until the engine is hot is another problem!!!

I have ran into alot of the same problems. At first i could not get the gear indicator to work properley. What have you done to fix some of the problems. Are you having a hard time starting it if it sits for a while?

Also how do you find it idles?

I have a very Hard time starting when the engine cools ,when its warm its no problem, I do not know the reason for this, but the strange thing is when I apply the choke on (after I had to fix the cable)the engine still runs normal, when you would think it should stall out on you,
I have a funny feeling these chokes are not working properly,I do not like these carbs at all ,(have to warm up for 5-10 mins in order for good running engine order .

I have the same promblem with my shifter, have very hard time to put in neutral without being in 1st and 2nd gear,

Had to put another battery in the back compartment, have 2 batteries conected now as I kept on getting a dead battery during a lot of night driving, which is understandable,(must not produce enough charge) been fine ever since,

and here is a little trick to quiet down your noisy little muffler,
you can roll up a tiny little bit of chicken wire mesh,Maybe 4" long and slide it into the hole of the muffler, make sure there is still enough holes for the exaust flow,(you can experiment with this) but it cuts the noise in half, totally gets rid of that noisy putt putt
always checking for loose nuts and bolts,I live on 5 acres so I constantly using it for hauling sawdust and firewood by trailer, and play time its great thru trails (sticks like glue around corners) and suprisingly it is really good in the mud,It performs just as good as my buddys Polaris 325 trailboss in the mud 8" deep (in my 70x70 mud pit)

I have 6 giovannis and they all have there own little stories of problems, But you fix'em back up ,and there all working great,Have to get the little 110cc hummer to complete my giovanni collection,

Keep me posted if you encounter any trouble,I'll be glad to listen and try to help you out,

Rick

HI,
I also have one of these atv's 250cc but on the certificate of origine the make is easy (not giovanni).I got it last summer and I've got lots of trouble stating it up,once its hot I can re-start it whitout any problems. (it may be the choke cable not working). Where I purchased it, the said it could be the batterie, the coil, the 6001a module or the solenoid. But they did'nt mention the choke cable but it makes a lot of sense since the bike starts well after its hot. I would really like to fix it. does anyone know how to find out what exaclty is the problem?

These Chinese Quads are alot alike. Out of hte box they are VERY lean and thus take a long time to warm up and run properly.

Check this link for tuning the quad and you'll be much better off. Mine was a real pain to get running until I tuned it and raised the needle 1 notch. Now it starts and runs with no issues.

How To Carb Adjust any Chinese ATV

I have the same 250CC Giovanni made by Easy.......

My machine runs lean as well......hard to start cold....as you guys have mentioned...

I went over the entire bike and checked all nuts/bolts and tightened quite a few of them......

This is my first bike....considering I only paid $1500 CDN delivered ... I love it.....maybe down the road I will step up to a 500 or bigger....depends on what I find I need.

My biggest problem right now is trying to register this bike in Ontario..... the MTO says that they don't have clearance to register them.....what's the deal with that???

I am not giving up.....I will get this thing registered...one way or another..

Hi,
I also had a very hard time to get the quebec licence plates for it. They wanted the border papers and the vendor wouldn't provide me with it.Is that what they are requesting?
As for my quad, it runs perferctly now that I followed the advice of 2manytoys on this site. Adjusted the carb needle made a few other ajustments and now it starts very well.(although it not as cold )

I have one of these 250 giovanni quads, the first ride on it the left rear axle side bearing seized and tore the axle out of the diff. The place where I bought it replaced it,I had to pay for the shipping, but it took a month to get the part.Once I replaced the diff I could not get it to start.I found the rubber piece between the carb and the engine cracked and I guess the engine was getting too much air,I fixed that and the quad is easy to start and runs good now.The only complaint I got now is that the thing rides very rough!!!!!!
