Hi Scooter86,
The Quad is fairly new it's this years model !
The kid riding it is pretty hard on it ! He took it to a kids race in real muddy condition's & it started to act up then !
I have cleaned the filter took the carb apart & cleaned it out ,took the exhaust off & cleaned the build up of carbon out --but it still runs good just no power ! I read about a greeen wire behind the cdi box Do you know about it ??
I just figured it was bogging down due to the clutch !
I can't find any info on it ! I want to rip it apart only if its the problem
Any Idea's would certainly be appreciated !
Chinese Motors Sheeesh !
Thanx

The green wire only applies to 2004 and older models...Your machine should have an adjustment right on the cdi but that shouldn't be your problem if nobody messed with it...You say you cleaned your spark arrestor in the muffler?

Couldn't hurt to check that cdi, see where the dial is(if it has a dial) It may just be turned down to low(it would probably hit the rev limiter to quickly) If it has a lot of hours on it, couldn't hurt to throw new rings on it(you have a 2 stroke, right?)

Thanks Oldyeller & Scooter86,
It is a 05---there is 2 boxes ---1 under the seat with the green wire coming out of & going back into the same box (no Dials)
There is another in the front under the nose that is a sealed box (no dials) & I did not clean the spark arrestor I took the pipe off at the head & cleaned out the inlets--It looks like the muffler is a sealed unit .
Yes it is a 2-stroke it really doesnt have many hours !
Do these E-tons have trouble with the clutch's???
I'm Stumped

When you had the carb apart did you pull out the pilot jet and clean it ? sounds like the same problem i had with our eton 90 . its the one hidden up in the hole in the bottom of the carb it controls almost all ranges of throttle except WFO. and if you did clean it i'd do it again to be sure

You can tell when the rev limiter on the cdi kicks in because at top speed you can hear the engine sound like its missing,da,da,da,da but otherwise the engine will run fine at anything other than top rpms...The 05 should have the removable spark arrestor in the muffler that is famous for clogging up and killing power.I believe it just pulls out after removing a bolt in the side or tip of the muffler.
