Thank you very much for the offer. I did some further inspection and discovered a nick on the condenser coil that made it through the insulation. It's hard to see if any damage was done, but at this point that's the suspect. I tested for continuity and it passed all the way to the external coil. I didn't register any output. so I think it's narrowed down. I came up with a reading of 64 ohms, but the # is meaningless to me. I ordered a new condenser coil from ron ayers which was only $36. It sure beat $150, but I have to sodder it in. Oh well... I'll be back if it doesn't work. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Thanks for the consitant and accurate guidance Jack!

hey.im almsot done with the process of rebuilding a 99 lt80 in the butler county area vocational technical school right now.jug ported and polished exhaust and intake.20mm carb kit,chain tensioner and new sprockets for racing.jug bored .30 over with wiseco piston kit.pro circuit pipe and silencer.head shaved .30.boyeson power reeds.hi rise handle bars.dirtbike twist throttle.everything done and today all back together went to start it.nothing.theres no spark at all.we had a fully charged battery on there.wed go to start it and all we got was a click.pressed the starter reset button and bang starter turns but no spark whatsoever.i called local suzuki dealer.only one around here they want 250.00 for the coil plug cap and wires.do you know of anywhere else i can get one for cheaper because i dont wanna spend that kind of money and find out its the stator.whats a good way to check and see if it is the coil.where do i start at to test to find the culprit of stopping my spark.please help.thanks jack.
