Default Dilemma..........

It looks similar to the quad I have. Mine is a Yamoto 150cc shaft drive with a zongshen motor. I have have the exact motor cover as you. Yours looks to be the newer model with the dual arms up front. I've had no problems with mine but hop up parts are few and hard to find for the motor. My son loves it and for your price it was a deal, I paid double that locally.

no vin # no registration and it must have 17 digit anything else wont work as for red or green sticker if the 8th digit is a 3 or a c you get a red sticker any other vin gets green if it has 17 digit

green sticker is open riding red sticker is limited in summer months although unless you have to go in a gate like azusa or something most rangers dont check just as long as you have one or the other.

i asked a ranger one time and he said it didn't matter to him they have to much to do without wondering which sticker you have

IF THERE IS NO 17 DIG.VIN DON'T BUY YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO REGISTER !!!!!!!

pit bikes a notorios for not having vins.

Well not sure I can help with what kind of quad it is, or if you can get out of the Ebay deal. My guess is that you will not be able to get out of it unless you just do not care about your rating on Ebay. It does look cool in the picture, though. For $860, you probably will not be hurt too much by it anyway I guess. As far as your son's behavior, this might be a good learning experience for him if addressed in the right way. Since he took it upon himself to buy this quad, I suggest you make him "earn" the money it costs. He can do so by mowing lawns, raking leaves, etc, if he is unable to get a job at 15 (some states alow limited work at restaurants, etc. at 15) You can take the money and put it away if you like, for his future education, or whatever savings account you feel appropriate (give it back to him later). After he finishes paying for it this way, tell him what your plans were before he pulled this stunt.
I guess the other thing is do not be too hard on him. We all have had these lapses in judgement, just most of the time we get away without causing such trouble.

retract your bid. Its done all the time on ebay! tell them the situation, they definetly have heard it before. If he leaves you neg feedback do the same for him! he'll send a second chance offer to the next high bidder. he has nothing to loose.... i would go for the jetmo.

Depends on how you feel about taking a chance on the bike, but you got it (even with the shipping) for about half what I've seen the 200cc's listed for.

As for your son, hehehe, I would go through the roof if my son did that! If it were my son, I'd take the negative hit on my ebay score and cancel the sale (the ratings don't mean much as most of the heavy buyer/seller's ratings are artificially inflated anyway) here's what I'd do (assuming you go through the deal and buy it):

I'd get the bike home, assemble it and then not let him ride it for a while. Ride it yourself. Tell him you were researching and had planned to get him one that was better, etc. Tell him you have to do some testing and all to ensure it is safe and is going to hold up. Make him sweat it out for a while. When he starts asking when he can have it, tell him you're not sure if he will ever get it, that you are angry with him for what he did. Sounds mean, but he's too old to spank and grounding him ain't going to do much. Gotta get'em psychologically where it hurts.

I also like the idea of making him work off the money.
