How often do these take a crap?Bought one and was going to buy another but after the first time the it was taken out a really rode it shot craps. So now we are thinking its not a good idea to get another one.Thank god for the w/g from the dealer but after six months then what?I know they are cheap but still a little cashy to be disposable.
Since these are suppose to be honda clones, does this mean you can use honda parts??

have you used the warranty yet ?

you'll find out its not worth the paper it's written on.

with these bike's it depends on who's ridding. sunl is bad about parts' but usually you can find them somewhere else

I would go with another brand other then sunl if it was my choice, but then again when I go to honda they have to order parts two so who knows

The dealer is sending parts. Was fast to send the new carb when that was thought to be the problem. Thus far they have been great to work with.I have to give them A+++ for that.My worry is after the 6 month warranty is up and some thing goes wrong them what??
It did fine when I was using ot for checking fences and just wondering in the timber but when we took it to friends house for a play day for the kids then thats when it went bad.The second one was going to be for the kids but if they cant hold up then its not worth it(they will have to stick with the horses) lol
So thats why I was wondering if others have had problem with them not holding up to the kids playdays.
Thanks

what kind of problem are you having?

these bikes sometimes can be a pain in the butt, some have real issue's. some are better. can you guys work on these yourself is the main thing alot of people can't and that becomes a problem.

how many hours do you have on it now and are they easy or hard.

these are bigginer bike's and they do have problems. if you ride them all the time go with the big 4 if you ride once in awhile they are ok. with my kids they seem to be ok, but we have to drive 2 hrs to go ride we can't just go in the back yard and take it for a spin, so it doesn't get used as much.

what has been your experiance so far with sunl and how they ride?

countryfun,

The engines aren't really what you need to worry about. You can use OEM Honda parts, or there are even a number of web sites that sell the engine parts that you may need. Here is one example Replacement parts. It will be when you need to replace a ball joints, A-Arms, swing arm, bushings, or even a frame that you may run into a problem finding the parts for your SunL. The quads are perfect for young riders but they do require a little more maintenance then say an LT50 or LT80. If you are looking for a good mid level price quad look at the Unison 50cc or 90cc. If you are looking to stay with the Chinese quads consider Kazuma smaller size quads. Run a search for Sunl there is plenty of info on them in this forum. I'm sure more people will post on how their SunL quads have held up.

Good Luck.

SB.

It was bought for me to check fences and get down goat/cattle paths. Was great for that.Everyone made fun cause size wise it was small but went and did what I bought it for.It seems to ride tough at first(like riding a 2X4 lol) but then seems to soften up a little after a few times.Dont know if it was because I just got use to it or what.Anyway after I had it a week or two my sisters 2 girls came to live with us (6 & 11 y/o)and they started riding it around the yard.So we were thinking about getting another one for them to have.We took it to some friends house for a cook out and they have a track around a hay field for their go carts. The bike was rode off and on all afternoon. All the kids took turn on it.Brought it home and 2 days later went to start it to go look for a lost baby goat and it would not fire.Anyway long story short the intake valve was bent and the piston indented...It may have had(just a guess) 15 hours on it.
Anyway I liked the atv just dont think that it should have shot craps like it did.

wow, pounded a valve already, usually not always this is caused from over reving the bike it starts going so fast that it doesn't have enough time for the valve to close before the piston comes up. like sb said most of the time its not the drive train usually it is brakes , bushings, bearings and ball joints.

you probably need a bigger bike for you as you will wear this thing out just chasing Goats and the chinese bikes that are 250 are not up to par yet ,besides if you are going to go bigger depending on how you ride I would go with a 350 400 range that way it doesn't have to work so hard to get you around if you go with the big guys you will have years of riding maybe not trouble free but probably better for you. chinese bikes are for kids and part time riders and for people who want to start riding to learn without big invetment and then they get the real thing if they like it.
