Oh I thoroughly agree. The Taiwanese stuff is extemely high quality. We work on DINLI, Polaris, and ETON.
Good stuff and TONS of options available. Definitely these are on my GOOD list.

hmm one problem I see with the ETon's is the 2 stroke engine. From what I'm reading on here it seems that taking a two stroke into water may cause stator burn out? Is the two stroke engines that succeptable to water?

It's not because it's a 2 stroke. It's engine design that so many of the minis share. The cvt and stator are not sealed.
For water and mud, you would want a semi auto air cooled engine (no fan cooled).
A Honda or Extreme Typhoon maybe?

Well I've looked around at all of the various youth ATV's. This included the Kazuma models (Meerkat 50 and Lacoste 110), Suzuki LT50/80, Yahama 90, Eton 50 & 90, Polaris Sportsman 90, Baja 50/90, and Maxam 50. It's amazing how much variance there is among the various quads. I will say that the Suzuki 50 gave me the most confidance although the lack of headlights was really puzzling to me. The Eton 50 seemed well built but that 2 stroke engine still gives me second thoughts and again a lack of headlights and rear brake lights. For $100 more ($2000cdn) I could get the Eton 90 which would offer the headlights but not have that techy remote starter/kill switch (it looks like a car FOB). The Baja seemed kinda cheap to me and the Meerkat seemed more like a toy (no front suspension, rear shock, semi auto with a 1-2-3-4-n-1-2-3-4 type shifter). The one unit I did find was a Maxam 50 (http://www.maxam-motor.com/Products/...13&Language=EN) which seemed pretty well built. The motor housings seemed solid, it's an automatic with headlights and 1 rear disc brake. Has front A arm dual shock suspension and 1 rear shock swing arm suspension. It's a perfect size for my daughter (ie not too small or more importantly too big). The price is just crazy ($800CDN) but I don't have much knowledge on the brand. It's being carried by a chain hardware store called TSC stores (located mainly in souther western Ontario, Canada) however I was wondering if people have any experience with this model/make?

Just an FYI on the Viper 70 foot brake. You can buy one from E-ton its an add on. Its 279.00 pricey but it is available. The hand brakes on the Eton are very good and the levers are made for little hands. Thats the main reason I went with the Viper 70.

One interesting point, I could pick up a suzuki LTZ50 for about $200 more than the Eton 70. Not much price difference between the two but the LTZ is a 4 stroke I think

i think that those minarelli engines that are in eton polaris kasea dinli alpha sports are good little engines they can make really good hp we have been racing about four years and any thing that is still stock has not given us any problems

Never thought this thread would go this far. Just my 2 cent's. I have A chinese Quad and it's one problem after another. I would suggest the Polaris, for dependablity and safty reason's. Our sun-L is going in the trash Dec. 24 and A new Polaris will be under the tree. Good luck on whatever you decide. Thanks, right now I'm looking at either a Kymco or a Eton bike. I truely dislike the fact that the suzuki's and honda's and yahama's don't have lights on them. The 2007 Polaris sportsman 90 is on my list as well as it will be a 4 stroke by then.
