i think i found the problem. two of the clutch rollers are smaller than the rest. could this be my problem? could i use 3 instead of 6? i would really like to get this going. please contact me.

forget it , i already found out its supose to be like this. now this other fellow says clean out the exhaust. im going to clean out the exhaust alright.

Two of the rollers shouldn't be smaller than the other 4?.....You can remove 3 of the rollers and it will take off like a scalded hound but it will kill the top speed so its not really practical...The basic design including air filter etc is very typical of this "style" of atv using the scooter motor not just the Eton...I'm not sure what year yours is but we have an 04 Viper model and it has been extremely reliable..I think alot of it has to do with them upgrading to a manual choke which was a huge improvement over the older style trouble prone electric unit.

 

all the rollers were the same. no problems there. maybe its as good as it will run. around 1/2 throttle it just cuts out like a rev limiter. im going to get the owner to take a look at it. its pretty muchdown to electrics and the choke but its not flooding. as far as the air box the motor on my lt80 is the same design and it has a atv air box.

Maybe it is the rev limiter?...If it is it will have a very distinctive sound,da da da da as the engine hits the limiter and then dies down slightly and repeats the cycle over and over.....I'm not sure what year or model you have but on the CDI box there is a green wire coming out of the side of the box.It isn't connected to anything it just loops and goes back into the box.If you cut the wire in the middle you will eliminate the rev limiter...On our viper it is located behind the nose cone on the left hand side of the bike as you sit on it.....I have pics if you need them.

Your very welcome Joe..Glad to hear you got it running up to snuff ....I never thought of the rev limiter because I thought this was just a new problem that developed.I'm glad you mentioned it..Yeah I just taped up the ends of the wires so they couldn't make contact with anything.
