Thanks hoytultratec, I didn't want you to go to that much trouble, but thanks!!

That's kind of what i thought, but I had read the other post that said choke was down on the 110 and I found myself messin' with the carb more than usual to get it running right.

Thanks Again

Sir,
Back on the subject of frame...your choke thing should be on a new thread, many will help you. I had the same problem.
On the chain rubbing. I say you weld those spots warn. Go to the Honda dealer and look at there dirt bikes. The high perfomance bike have a chain that drags on the swing arm. The all seem to have this 4 inch or so piece of strong composite that keeps them from rubbing through. Another option is to weld a strong piece of steel above the part that wore. SEADAWG

Thanks, that's what i'll do. I'll be welding for sure. Pretty bad design that the chain rubbed through the frame!

Noxzema,
I have two 150's and I noticed one is rubbing the frame also. not alot but enough that it has made a flat spot on the frame tube. i tried fooling with the chain tensioner also it only helped a little. I can't slip anything in there cause there is no room. Looking at the bike from behind it seems that the sprocket on the axle needs to go to the right, maybe a 16th of an inch and I would be ok. I was thinking that if I took off the four bolts that hold the sprocket on then added a washer it would work only thing is I didn't know if the whole axle had to be taken off. Or if that sprocket moves on the axle with the bolts off. Then i could slip the washers on without it becoming some giant project. Let me know if you get a fix.
Thanks
Tim

Sir,
The tensioners are just junk and of poor quality on these quads. My 250 did the same thing and my VX-80 now does. It just has a shorter length to travel. SEADAWG

That really doesn't answer my question. The chain seems pretty tight it is just slightly out of line. If your chain was hitting the frame how did you fix it?

That sound like a good idea. I studied the rear a lot and mine "looks" as though it is straight. If it is off a little then the chain would come off a lot which it does not. This makes me believe it's straight. Let me know if you try it and it's an easy fix. I also tried teasing the chain tensioner a little but did no real improvement. I might just end up welding it when it blows a hole in the frame tubing. I will tackle this project later in the winter. Right now i need to replace tie rods and ball joints. Front end is falling apart.

For those of you guys who have the chains rubbing your frames or swing arms, I am curious. Have your chains always rubbed on your swing arms or did the chains start rubbing over time?

The reason why I ask is that my chain never rubbed until till my son took our quad out for some abusing. He managed to bend the upper rear shock mount. He lowered the quad about 1 1/2" to 2". He did not bend or break anything else. I pounded the upper mount back into place but the chain does not run at the same distance under the swing arm that it did before the upper mount bent. The chain does run closer under the swing arm now. It is working for now but when the shock mount bends again or breaks I will weld a stronger mount at that point.

Have any of you put the quad on a jack to see if the chain moves further away from the swing arm when the rear wheels leave the ground?

Have you looked at your rear shock mounts, do they still run true?

So far my mod has worked out for my swing arm. I took the quad out for a 22 mile ride last weekend and the chain did rub a good portion of my PVC pipe but that was it. The chain guard did pretty good for its first real trip out. I must say I did not think the quad would make the whole ride. I thought for sure we would have to tow it back in. If you would like to see a pic of the new wear on the PVC let me know and I will post one.

Anyways good luck with your quads. If you find a remedy for your chain please post what worked for you.

SB.
