Kazuma 150 chain rubs
#1
Are there any fixes to a chain that is rubbing on the frame of my Kazuma 150? It is wearing a large gash on the frame tube and is getting to the point that it looks as though it will be jepordizing its integrity and strength. I have tried adjusting the tensioner assembly to help it pull the chain away but it does not do any better. I can't see any area that can be adjusted. It looks like a design flaw..
Thanks

Noxzema,
I ran into the same problem that you are having except my chain may have been rubbing in a different location than yours. The chain was rubbing grooves on the bottom of my swing arm. My first attempt is a little primitive but it is working for now.
I used a piece of PCV pipe, cut out about 1/4" of material to get the PVC around the swing arm tube. Put two hose clamps on to keep it in place and that's it. The Pics will be up soon.
Good Luck.

Thats a great idea. I thought of doing something like that but your idea is better. Only thing is I feel that the high speed chain will rub thru the PVC in no time? I figure i'll give it a try though. I ordered a new chain too. i think the master link is loose and sticking out a bit hitting the frame.

Take a look at your chain and get someone to compress the rear suspension of your atv..This way you will be able to see when the chain is making contact..You may have to readjust your chain with the suspension partially compressed for example to get it right..As the rear swingarm goes through its arc the chain the chain gets tight and then loose depending on where the suspension is..That is why the suspension is so limited from the factory..A chain tensioner will usually help with this problem....Is there anyway you could add some rollers near the problem area?...Do not let the chain wear into the frame as it will eventually break..Even some temporary protection is better than nothing.

Thank you for the reply.
The chain rubs throughout the suspension travel. Wearing a few inches of the frame length wise. I thought about some rollers but really don't know how to go about that. (or some kind of chain guide)
The chain is in good shape and not worn.
I will try the pvc around the frame but i dont think it will last too long.
I tried using some washers on the stock chain tensioner to bring the chain out. It work slightly.
Chain slap creates messy, nasty bruise on the frame!

Hi I have a kazuma 110 and I was wondering if the choke lever should be up to choke it or down?

I'm a little confused. I found this reply to a post back in February concerning the choke on the 110
" This is a good kids quad. I have two of them so don't fret. In case you don't know, there is a black choke lever on the right side of the engine. Down the choke is closed, up the choke is open."
My kids 110 will start in either position, but I was just wondering in which position the choke on "ON or "CLOSED". Is it up or down?
Thanks.
