Eton Stator Woes Continue...
#1
I bought a new stator off of ebay which was supposed to be a higher output one but when I installed it, no spark at all. Pulled it out and put in the old one and the bike fired right up. Put the new one in and no fire at all. Sent new one back and got the following response which I can hope someone can verify:
"I have received the stator assy. and I put it in the bench tester / ignition set-up we use to test parts of the system and it gave good fire. This is the first time that one has been used on a late model RXL, and I have really bad times with the Chinese on parts and literature on the ETON's. But I have found that they had two different type ignition systems for the RXL 90's, but I cannot find out the years. What I did find out from ETON america ( KEENEINDUSTRIES) is that they look identical, but with major differences. The OHM reading from the CDI source(large winding on stator)on one is 2.0- 4.0 ohms, and the other is 200-400 ohm's. Also one Black Pulse coil outside flywheel is 100-115 ohms, the other pulse is 200-450 ohms. My stators are the lower ratings. If you could measure your pulse coil and large windings ohm ratings, it would help clear this up."
Has anyone every heard of this because when I check the parts diagram, they only show one stator. I can't find any technical stuff on the ohms either.

i'm having problems with a yxl150. i got redesigned stator for it and blows fuse after 2 hits of starter, with new cdi, but no spark with old cdi. Replaced all other electrical components no help. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

If you unplug the CDI does the fuse blowing stop? If your old CDI doesn't blow fuses, and the new CDI does, then this suggests your new CDI is bad, or it is not the right CDI.
