To inject or not to inject...
#1
Local dealer says that I will never be able to sell my LT80 if I remove the oil injection. She says that they have been the dealer since the LT was introduced and they have never!!! seen an injector fail. They also said they will not service an LT if there is no injection.
What do you guys think?

Snowmobiles been using it for years..........Only seen one problem with the three Cylinder. Polaris XCR sled...............They had three Brass ends (on oil lines)that went to each Cylinder...one of these backed off and that cylinder ran lean..Very lean..No oil ....But that was rare...........I had over 15,000 KM on my Yamaha 485 sled (1986)and no problem with the oil injection......I would leave it alone.....Just wondering why you want to disconnect it???????...Caper............

If you question whether or not the oil injection is working properly I refer to an OLD article from a motorboat magazine I once subscribed to. I can't quote it word for word as I have since lost the article. It seems that when Evinrude/Johnson started selling its outboard motors with oil injection in the late 80's-early 90's the oil injection was very weak and failed --OFTEN-- causing many self destructing outboard engines. Many of the early Evinrude/Johnson oil-injected owners learned to not only fill the oil-injection tank, but also mixed oil in the main gas tank as a precaution. The only side effect to this was fouled spark plugs and a somewhat stinky exhaust. This was a contributing factor to Evinrude's demise is the late 90's. Last I heard Bombardier bought Evinrude out and bailed 'em out.

By the way the racebikes and race-sleds ...go this route so they can loose weight......no oil injection pump or large oil tank........
With this kids quad.....What happens if the kid what to be like dad (mom) and fill the quad by himself..............AND PUT THE STRIGHT GAS IN FOR THE LAWNMOWER!!!!!!!!!!!!Then you will be GUARANTEE LUBRICATION......NONE AT ALL...............That's my view on the topic!!!!!....Caper.....

who's compareing ??? i'm only stating a fact, anything thats mechanical is subject to failing and that includes injector pumps, the oil injector mixes at appox 32:1, so by mixing not only will gain better thottle repose buts it also better for the environment.

Ditch it!
I've seen more than a few injector pumps go out and cost a bore/piston minimum. Some a bottom end re-build.
Go to ATVRiders and ask a cmiller. He'll tell you all about his $400 adventure/lesson on bad injector pumps.
Your Zuki dealer is a dealer and gives dealer advice. Maybe they just haven't been around the LT80 block like I have.
