Default jetmoto200 vs tornado 200

I just wanted to thank everybody for posting about the china made atv's.. I'm going to be making a big purchase at the end of this month.. I plan on buying a 300cc apache for myself and a 200cc fully automatic for my girlfriend from viva motors.. I have talked with anamcycles..aka komoto, and motorextremes about the products they sell, and both companys where very friendly, and easy to talk with.. All questions answered.. The only reason I have decided on viva is the fact I can get a 300cc atv, and a 200cc fully automatic.. Otherwise I would be buying the bigger 250cc from motorextremes, and the 200cc.. Then I would be stuck teaching my girlfriend about shifting/using the clutch etc... That might take most of summer...lol.. That's why I'm going the viva route...

I have been trying to research these adult size atv's, but mostly find people bashing china , and actually being quite rude to people who are interested in them. I fully understand these might not be built as tough as the japan made atv's.. But for the money, and the amount of time I actually have to go out and enjoy riding the trails.. I feel these offer me the best bang for my hard earned dollar... I actually bought my son a 70cc sport atv from ebay about 1.5 yrs ago... The thing that impressed me was the fact it hauled both of us around, and I didn't break it...lol I think the weight limit is like 120lbs, and I weigh 212 lbs, and my son was around 35lbs at the time.. I actually have video footage to prove it.. If anybody's interested just shoot me a message... As a matter of fact.. I just fired it up this past weekend, and no problems.. It was like 35 degrees in my garage, and it started right up...

My only concerns are:
I did manage to check the better business bureau on all three companys.. They all have some sort of complaints/problems... And when buying from the internet
it's tough to actually get an idea of the actual size of the atv, because no adults are sitting on them... Thats why I want to thank the people who posted pictures, because you can clearly tell how an adult fits... And so far they seem to be a decent size!

NO. I just found this page via google.

I was considering one of the Trailhammer 250. Do you guys think it is a waste to spend that kind of money on Chinese stuff?

If you would read the forum you will find that those of us that have made the purchases are very satisfied and believe that they are well worth the money.

I picked up this afternoon. WOW I am glad I got a Yellow one! Its kinda orange with a black center...My boys love it...It was a good experience to put it together with them. I Have not rode it yet. I did some pictures. you can see them in my gallery over at http://www.arkriders.com/gallery/v/R1LAUBINERO/
I'll ride it tomorrow. When you sit on it it feels just a tad smaller than a Yamaha blaster. In the pictures you can see it parked next to my sons Kolpin 90 ...I'll do more pictures tomorrow.

Wow - cool!

Interesting observation:

- I was told that the headlight section was a contrasting color on all models.
- You were told the opposite: that the units are all one color

- I received TWO of these machines now, BOTH of which are all one color
- YOURS has 2 colors.

Just the opposite of what we were told to expect.

Take a close look at your back brake & make sure it's not dragging slightly out-of-the-box. Mine was dragging. SIL's machine isnt' assembeld yet, but doesn't seem to be dragging. My report will be posted probably tomorrow (Saturday 3/10/7)

Enjoy your new machine!

charged the battery..threw some gas in it..started right up!( turn gas on!) I ddi have to adjust the idle screw which is in a bad place..you can see it...but not access it unless the body work is removed ..and the rear brake reservoir...solution was to get a nice needle nose pliers and gently turn it in 3/4 a revolution...screw is soft so be careful...Perfect idle afterwards..no nasty sounds engine just purrs ...very much like a Honda single.
ok Its not a wheelie machine for sure( its quite long... and is rather tippy. I did flip the front rims around and lowered the psi in all tires..they all came rock hard. This improved it greatly...
the bend of the handle bars stinks... its high and angles the bars inward at a vee...Twist throttle is a must as i see it..right hand turns make the thumb throttle hard to work properly Might have to find a flatter bar too.
Shifting is good but a bit awkward...shift down to go up... the dash lights are a nice feature...can't seen to get my feet comfortable..I have size 10 feet...just gonna have to deal I guess. reverse worked great.
Seems like the rear brake is dragging a bit...I'll have to look into it. Assembly was fine. 2 bolts stripped on the reservoir shock mounts but that was about it. The tie rod ends had to put on as well but did not allow the cotter pin to go through...Locktite is my friend now...BTW I did not use the manual at all...and my 12 year old did most of the assembly with me supervising...Highly recomended..if you're familar with how things go and worked on an atv before you'll be fine..if not the manual has color pictures in it..not bad...
The front head light assembly mounts only at the rear..so the front edge is loose...doesn't flop during rides ..but we'll see what happens in the dark tonight. I'm keeping the stock oil in it to break it in...after about an hours run time I'll dump it and put some valvoline atv oil in it( available at autozone!)
Brakes are adequate for its intended purpose..the front drums require a strong hand...won't do endos like my lil 90 will...
The seat is nice and flat... a bit short...not bad...ergos are good for my 5' 8" height.
So far this is a very good quad for $899. I'm up in the air if I'll but another since the price went up 100 $...I probably will... THe color options is a crap shoot at best...talk to the reps about it is all I can say...had I asked the question of what is on hand I would've had the bike much sooner... I took some more pics...I'll see if a can put 'em in the gallery here... Its a very sharp looking quad the stickers are of good quality as is the plastic..it even has some..no fear evil eyes stickers...My youngest son think the resevoirs look like rockets..wanted to know if they'd shoot off!
I did do a small jump with it ...about a foot and cleared a 10 foot stretch...no problem..I would say thats its limit.. the rear has little dampening to fight the strong spring on it. The front end has a nice plushness to it and offers nice feed back on tight trails at a brisk pace...you'll get plenty warning if its going to tip.
The switch gear has a nice feel to it. Low and high beams. you can turn the fan off too... the kill switch seems to be a motorcycle turnsignal switch..it does the job...but was kinda wierd doing that. The key works good and is next to the fender ...seems to be out of the way of knees hitting it...( this is a problem on my 90)
