There are mini 50s for smaller kids....Redcat/Kazuma 50s, Suzuki LT50 or Kawasaki KFX50 2006 and older should make a good fit

LT50/KFX50 (same quad) has a lot parts available to make to faster (very slow in stock form)....CT Racing makes a nice kit....PR Racing in OH does nice head and cylinder work...

You can change the gearing and add aluminum rims (offset) for more stability....We even added the screw on stud wheel spacers to widen it up

It turned some heads for what it was, but there is no suspension to speak of on these little quads and the centrifigal clutch is no match for a CVT set up.

There is a ton of info on these mods on this forum....if you can't find them just PM me and I will help you

Good luck!!

Are you referring to the Z50 4 stroke? I just purchased one of these and it is aweful in stock form. The only thing I have heard is the limiter in the transmission, but what other cheap mods do you know of?

I have a e ton 40cc 2 strroke that has been the smallest i have found but so far other than a narrow stance has been a good little quad. My 9 yr old rides it some times and can get a llitle air coming out of our back field on it but there is very little travel on it but for a learner quad it has worked great my 3 yr old is going to start on it this summer. And as far as price we picked our up used for $250. not bad for something they can grow out of quick hope this helped

We selected a used Suzuki LT-A50 (the 2-stroke version, ours is a 2002) after measuring it against a child's Peg Perego battery powered ATV. They are basically identical in size. Same height, same length, same seat height (important), same footwell height (important), etc. If your child can fit on a battery-operated ATV they should fit on an LT-A50.

I would avoid the newer LT-Z50's because (as noted by someone else on this thread) their 4-stroke engines just don't seem to have enough gusto. The LT-A50's 2-stroke comes quite restricted from the factory but removing the restrictors opens it right up and there's plenty of power in those 49cc's.

Insane,

I like the Kazuma Meerkat 50 myself. They are the smallest 50cc I have seen and have plenty of power and are easy to operate. Raceway has them and he has THE best customer service I have ever seen. To see what these look like click here. We had a 2004 Meerkat and that thing ran great and still was running great when we sold it three weeks ago. My son had outgrown it. And at 525$ from Raceway, you will not find a better deal with near the same customer service.

Insane,

The meerkat is a great little quad. The smallest 50cc quad you can find. It is very durable, plenty of power, simple design and perfect for smaller kids. Check it out. They are great.

I purchased one at X-mas time for my son and I can tell you its not the motor rather the rev limiter that comes from the factory that severely limits the LTZ-50 4 stroke. I wish somebody would come out with a replacement CDI. The motor has plenty of power/tq for a small child. It is a nice little machine. Just needs a higher rev limit

My son loves his LT-Z50 now(he is 6), but I will need to get the rev limit raised within the next year! I have already removed the spacer in the clutch.
CT racing claims they will have a CDI box soon to raise the rev limiter up, and they already offer a header for it.

It looks like I,m gonna get him a new yangneese made 50.BTW these chineese meerkats sunls ect look strangly similar.I think someone is building them for everyone.I live about a 1 hour drive from wildfire, they have no pick up fees.I am undecided about a 50cc or a 70cc quad. They are both the same size in stature, just a little price diff. This will be his first quad.Would a 70 be a mistake?
