SUNL 150cc atv problems
#12
Alright, traced that red wire and it was connected, then I test it with a test light and found out tat it was dead. Cut it and replaced it and the fuse and it fired right up. I also blew out the jets on carb and the sputtering stopped. I was able to do a few passes at half and wot. Thanks to everyone for your help. The atv is running pretty good now.

oakland,
I will apologize for bill2099. The majority of us on here are not here to bash you for your purchase, we are here to help, so don't get the wrong impression by one person's comments. As for your SUNL, there have been alot of complaints, but in the same token I have talked to many people who have them and they have worked well. The good thing is you obviously have some mechanical knowlege which will help you be successful with your quad. bill2099 actually means well, he has a lot of knowledge, but sometimes puts the wrong point across. Please keep us informed as to how your quad is working for you and post a review for others to learn from.

I got it running great, idles great, smotth power delivery. Not to bad for under $1k i guess. I took it to some dirt and hills and it handled it self pretty well I must say. I'm 6"3 and 300lbs and it moved me up some pretty good size hills. I bought the atv mainly to just drive around and so I have somthing for my wife to drive. I'm currently saving up for the Polairs Scambler 500. But in the mean time this will do.
Thanks again for everyones help, I was told this was the place to have my questions answered and you guys did not disapoint, Thanks again.

bill2099,
I bought 3 SUNL ATVs from atvdiscounter over a year ago and they have AWESOME customer service!
Yes, SUNL ATVs are not the greatest, but Glen Barling is EXCELLENT to do business with.
He replaced every part that I had issues with on the ATVs and backs the bikes he sells 100%.
So my opionion is you need to think about what you are saying before speaking about someones business.
As for SUNL they are not a Jap bike by far and if you do not like them, that is fine, bash away.
Enjoy!

Glad to have found this site to vent on. Me son bought one of these from NYDiscountmotors on Feb. 19 on ebay. Nothing but problems since it came out of the crate. Starter wouldn't work, so he was jump starting it for about two weeks. Place was going to meet us halfway between NY and CT to fix problem, then tells me to take it somewhare and they will reimburse cost. Did that and the day before we took it all of a sudden the starter worked. Guy up here looked at it, couldn't find why it wouldn't start before, needed headlight replacement. Was never sent. Then they won't reimburse him the $90 because it was now working. Then agreed to pay half, still haven't gotten it. Body parts are broken off, cheap plastic, In March the chain broke, $38 to replace that with a good chain. By beginning of May, rear brake pads completly gone. Another $68 to replace them, once the guy found ones that matched. Yesterday, the front wheel is now sheared right off the axle. Luckily he was going around a curve and not going fast. These are a piece of $1000 junk. He rides in the woods on trails he and his friends have made and these bikes are just not rugged enough for that. He had a Polaris 90 Sport we got used for $600. That on had been flipped, crashed, drowned and never broke off a body part. On this piece of crap the entire right side from front feder to back is in pieces and other parts are cracked. He has sure learned a hard lesson for a 14 year old. NY Discount motors response is basically you get what you pay for. They are really mad because I left neutral feedback on them. Just said good sale, shoddy product, email for inof before bidding. Ruined there 100% positive rating. Have asked me to recind it, was considering it, until the wheel incident. Sorry to go on so long, but just needed to vent. I guess buyer beware ir really true. Thanks

Treksip, another good reason not to buy this Chinese junk, do you ever hear about wheels falling off of Japanese machines? You did a real service to people mentioning the wheel as this could save someone's life. Also, who wants to spend all their time fixing this crap. It blows my mind that people continue to buy this junk.

I (and a few others on this forum) have continually warned about SUNL, their low quality products, useless pathetic warranties, and lack of post sale support or replacment parts. Yes I know there are some here that have had decent luck with their SUNLs, but they should consider themselves very lucky. SUNL buys and imports from a variety of factories and depending on batch, the quality can vary from fair to extremely poor. I've seen it all when it comes to SUNL. From 250cc ATV gearboxes that strip the very first time the ATV is put in gear, to broken frames, swingarms, axles, front ball-joints, mufflers, etc etc on the mini/mid-size quads. There quite simply is not a lower quality more poorly manufactured line of ATVs on the market. SUNL is the bottom of the barrell! SUNL as a company only has one purpose (and it's not customer satisfaction) and that is to volume sell and empty as many containers of this junk as soon as possible.
