Help adjusting 110cc CVT please
Hello, my sons chinese Gio 110cc ATV with CTV transmission is not operating as well as I would like. My son from a dead stop can not climb a 4" rut unless he gives the ATV 3/4s full throttle. When the clutch finally engages it shoots him forward as soon as he clears the obstacle. He has the same problem when trying to start on a hill. His 4spd manual transmission 50cc would usually just crawl over a similar obstacle or up a hill with little throttle. What sort of adjustments should I be trying to make to give the bike more starting torque? I have heard about different clutch weights and clutch spring weights but have no idea as to what I should be looking for or where to get them. Thanks

are you talking about giovanni 110? they do not have a cvt transmission, its just like all the rest of the chinese 110 atv's ,it uses a single speed with a centrifugal clutch. about the only change to make it a little better is change the counter shaft spocket 1 tooth smaller, that will help increase bottom end a little it will also take away some top speed.

The bike I am asking about is the "110CC GIO MINI HUMMER QUAD ATV" I have not actually taken the case sides off to look but in the item description on Ebay they mention that the Transmission is a CVT. The bike does appear to shift. Correct me if Im wrong but I believe the CVT transmision is mated to a cenifrugal clutch.

Maybe I can help you since you have helped me. I downloaded the manual from the Ebay site for the Allstarz sales for the 110 mini hummer and it gives a decription of how to adjust the CVT transmission on page 110 of the manual. The manual is from a 50cc but I think it is the same engine and hopefully the same transmission. If you have an email that I can send a manual file to I can send it to you.
