Default komoto 250 running slow

my komoto is slow as hell. its top speed right now is 25 miles per hour...how fast should this thing be going? i bought it used. ive tried to adjust the clip on the needle in every spot but still nothing. tried to tune the carb but still the same speed. the only thing i can think wrong with it is that inside the muffler manifold where it connects to the motor..theres a bead of welds that restricts airflow. ive bgouth it to a muffler shop they said they couldnt grind it down. so im going to take it to a fabrication shop. anyway anyone have any idea?

Giving a bit of room to breath on both ends (intake and exhaust) will certainly help. Try to recall where the needle was out of the box and richen it two clicks (two lower on the clip). Go up one size on the main and adjust the fuel screw to suit...probably 1/4 to 1/2 turn OUT from stock.

That should get you close.

Keep in mind tough that you are lugging around +/- 650 pounds with a 15-20 hp motor...I would not expect much over 30.

It will take forever as it will be a pain getting anything in there to grind.

You can have someone with a torch cut them out.
