Alcander 150cc Auto/reverse
#1
Well I finally put the cash down today on a 2007 Alcander 150cc quad for my daughter.......After lots of reading and e-mails to different dealers(lots of them).......I really looked this quad over today and her is what I found.......Full auto with forward, netural, reverse,
double front a-arm with coil over shocks full adjustable with mono coil over shock in the rear....Two drum brakes up front with one rear disc brake, fuel shut-off,nice deep lugs on the tires, electric start with back-up kick start,VIN number even to plate this thing!!!!also the headlight has two yes "TWO" halogen bulbs up front with rear tail and brake light.....The one on display in the showroom was red and I told the salesman the rear tires are on the wrong sides(directional arrows plus tread was wrong).......LOL...LOL.......
The only two things "SO" far I didn't like were the air filter was directly off the carb with pre-filter though but I may re-direct this higher with hose ....we will see........And second thing I noticed was there was no protection at the foot-wells..I may need to fab something up at the shop to keep her feet protected.......They are wide open ..not closed in at all..........Caper..........
Here is the link..Alwheels.caAlcander 150cc Auto/Rev.....You will need to click on the left side of web-site where it says ATV"S and CARTS.....Then it's the first one on the screen Listed at $1695 Can I got it for $1500.00 all in..incl.taxes,assembly,and P.D.I...........

Looks pretty cool, and alot like some other brands that I've seen. Reminds me of the Yamoto and Hisun brands that I recently looked at.
As far as the air filter location, it seems that most use this configuration on the "kids" quads.

Yes on that location.......Most do ..........I like the pre-filter over it.........But it is very low I wonder if a small water puddle will splash up and plug the filter..........or cut the air-flow off for a second!!!
Also with it being so low........The dust will build up very quickly on it.......She will be between me and my wife so I really don't know how much dust this thing can take before it needs to be cleaned........Hopefully it wil last a few hours of riding................Caper..........

seems like for 1500 bones you could find alot nicer quad, a few year old honda trx90 or a yamaha 80 even a polaris 90 all of which are twice the quad that is, and will hold its resale value, and parts are easy to find . i see 2 or 3 year old formentioned quads sell all the time for under 1500 bucks. buy smart and ride it a few years and sell it for the same price. thats whats nice about the big name manufactures. i bought my 99 polaris sport 400, 1 owner like new for less than 1500, thats 2 years ago, and it will always be worth that when/ if i ever sell
just a thought

itch or rich.........1500 "bones".....In Canadian "DOLLARS" will not buy anything you listed there!!!!!........................The small 90 Polaris here new is around $3400.00.Plus 14% tax P.D.I. .........................Second hand ones YOU SIMPLY CAN"T FIND!!!!........For $1500 here you can get a 20 year old Moto -4 Yamaha.........Or a 1986 Honda "BIG RED " Trike.........I take my chances with a new import.........I might be wrong......Caper
