Ive been looking for a 350 odyssey . I came upon one for $1500.00 . The guy says it runs great and strong . Now the bad part . It looks real bad cosmetically . It has all home meade fenders and on side has some of the bars replaced . The top is slightly bent also . HE doesnt know if the electric start works as it was not hooked up when he bought it a year ago and there is no battery or headlights on it . Seat is recovered . Tires about 50% tread . I would have to cosmetically restore it , cause Ive been looking for one in great condition but have not had any luck at realistic prices . What do you guys and gals think??

It will cost you quite a bit to restore one. A new starter runs about $400, fenders are ~$70 apiece, Frame/rollcage parts are kind of costly. It is often cheaper to find a unit in good shape and pay a bit more for it. I was looking at a 250r for about 1600, but after adding up everything it needed replaced, it would have been cheaper to find one in good shape. You can find 85 odysseys in pretty good shape for ~$2500.

My dad bought one for my family when we first got into the sport of off roding becuase it was safe. We put on a 5 point harnes and nerf bars for even more sfety, and it made you feel like you were invincible. The only problem waas that it broke alot , and it was too wide for where we ride at. Overall it was a fun machine. Also i think we sold it for about 2500, to a cycle shop and then they washed it and sold it for 3500, so watch getting one from a cycle shop.

I agree with Preston 7. You are better off in the long run getting a complete machine in decent shape to start with. Plastic is expensive$$as is a starter$$. Keep looking, the right machine is out there, just be patient. Good Luck.
