With the high dollar bikes you can always resale them and get most of your money back ,if he doesn't like riding. With the cheap bike if he does like riding it you will be working on it all the time, then ending up getting a good one.

their's a lot of differant opinios on the chinese atv's, mine is, for the 4-10 year olds beginners they're great learning atv's, i would not buy one for advance rider or a kid over 12 years old, as far as which one, to be trueful it really doesn't matter, they all use the same basic engines and off the self componits, the only things the atv manufactors make is the plasics and frame, the rest they buy. i would recommend a 70-90cc with a automatic transmission for your son, also you need to buy from a dealer that will support you after the sale if their happens to be a problem, for a list of some of the bad dealers go to sunljunk.com, the biggest complaint is the atv falling apart, so make sure to lockwasher, loctite, every bolt and nut and double nut the exhaust studs, also need to take the electrical connectors apart and put a little dielectrical grease in them and then cover the connectors up with liquid electrial tape, one last thing you need to do for safety is to add wheel spacers, you can do this for under $20 for all 4 wheels, when you get the atv and need to know how PM me and i'll send you some pictures and a parts list
