What should our 2006 Polaris 90 be worth?
My 9 year old son rides a 2006 Polaris Predator. We added a bunch of high dollar performance parts to it and have to admit it's really fast now. Huge difference from stock. We put in a bigger bore kit, one of the WRH Racing Pipes, the performance CDI, and the performance clutch kit both front and rear of the CVT drive system. All these parts came from WRH Racing and again, the difference is night and day.
We did all of this with the intention of starting to race. Come to find out, there isn't a whole lot of youth ATV racing going on in NC. The closest track to us was East Bend however they only race there 5-6 times a year and they never have practice time on the track. In fact, we can't find any track that allows ATV practice time.
The problem is that with all the racing stuff on the bike, it is a little too loud to be out riding in the field like we used to. Since we can't do much of that and there isn't really a whole lot of racing going on close by, we are thinking about canning the whole idea, and selling the quad. We were thinking about going to a Honda 90 for the sake of the gears.
What should our Polaris be worth? They look to be going for about $1500-$1600 in stock form so I was thinking with all the performance parts we should be able to pull $2k easily out of it. The quad still looks new. Just a lot faster.
Does that sound reasonable?
Anyone else in NC with info on a track where we could practice at regularly? The four wheeler sits quite a bit now.

Sorry, I can't answer your question, but from my experience in general performance parts are a total write-off. Unless you have a real race-quality machine and happen to enounter The perfect customer, the cost of go-fast goodies is simply non-recoverable.
How much is a 1988 Monte Carlo worth? Maybe $800? How much is a 1988 Monte Carlo with $2000 worth of new rims and tires? The same eight hundred bucks. Ditto the speed stuff.
Someone will come along to disagree and tell you how stupid I am in 10... 9 ... 8 ...
Now I hope you'll be willing to answer mine.
You say the '06 model seems to be going for $1500-1600. How much did it cost new?
