Default "HOW TO" 07 KFX90 CDI IN A 07 KFX50!!!

I finally figured out how to wire a KFX90 cdi box to a KFX50 . What a relief!!!!!! I just had to keep chipping away at it. Dealers said it couldn't be done. What the crap do they know!!!! Anyways, I started it ,but I dont have any hard numbers yet. Its 1AM here in ST.LOUIS so Ill have to wait until the morning. So heres the facts:

07 KFX90 CDI BOX: 30400-PVA2-900
07 KFX50 CDI BOX: 30400-PVA1-900 Both boxes have"2006.AUG" under the number.

WIRING: SOLID BLACK WIRE NEEDS TO SWAPPED TO OTHER SIDE OF 2PIN CONNECTER ON THE KFX90 CDI BOX.

YELLOW/BLACK WILL STAY IN THE UPPER LEFT OF THE 4 PIN CONNECTOR

BLUE/YELLOW WILL MOVE TO LOWER LEFT OF 4-PIN CONNECTOR

GREEN WIRE WILL MOVE FROM THE UPPER RIGHT TO LOWER RIGHT , THEN YOUR DONE.
KFX 50 KFX90

BLACK O O ------ 2 PIN CONNECTOR ----- O O BLACK

BLACK/Y O O GREEN 4 PIN CONNECTOR BLACK /Y O O -------
------- O O BLUE/Y BLUE/Y O O GREEN

If that makes any sense!!! The diagram above is laid out as if the 2 pin connector is on top and the four pin connector is on bottom. Your wiring should look like the KFX90 after you install the KFX90 BOX. You don't need to cut wires. Take a small electrical screw driver(or small eyeglass screw driver) and push each pin out. I hope to have some results tommorrow.

Yea , it worked , but is got the same rev limit on the 90 as the 50 does(7500rpm).I found a kymco scooter that has the same wiring to the cdi. So I ordered a 10000rpm cdi from a guy in Taiwan for 30.00 . Just waiting for the part. Hopelly ill get this beat on way or an other.

On a positive note: Got the little 50 going 21mph now with the bigger wheels and sprockets. I weight about 140 pounds , so imagine he(my son) should be able to get 22 mph on it. Took the bike to a street that had one of those police radar trailers set up.

Well, it didn't work. I kinda figured it wouldn't. It was worth the try. The CDI actually blew up when I cranked the engine over (LOL). Just gonna have to wait until the aftermarket comes to grips with this 4-stroke. 7500 RPM'S is enough(for now).

Hmmm. A few of these guys mentioned the 90 CDI works just fine. No mention of swapping wires. Isn't it just plug and play?? Are you sure you have the correct CDI??

This maybe a solution to the rev limiter. Just ordered one, will keep you updated.

The link shows a Gy6 engine performance CDI, but nowhere could I find a spec that says it is DC powered. I suspect this is AC powered (much more common with performance CDIs). If it is AC powered is absolutely will not work is a DC powered ignition system. If you plug it into a DC powered ignition system it will likely be instantly ruined.

Maybe you know more about the CDI in the link than is specified. Do you know that it is DC powered? I wonder why MotoPartsMax didn't specify this critical parameter.
