Default Help with ATV purchase, Raceway or Kidatvs

Hi all Im new to the forum and I need some advice.

Let me drop the first BOMB, I will be buying a chinese Atv. they are a few reasons for this, the first being that they are no dealers in my area exept a suzuki dealer that just opened on 10/1/07 they have no atvs in stock, the sales people have no idea when they will have any ,they have no pricing info either, I got in touch with a salesman in another dept and he basically said take whatever price I find online and add another $1500 to it .Folks that basically coming up to $6600-$7000 for two kids ATV's . I dont think so.

I Plan to surprise my sons with Atvs for Christmas, I have narrowed it down to only two dealers that I would purchase from they are Raceway or Kidatvs as they seem to have good reps and great customer service this is where i need your help guys

Raceway has the xl70 and the 100mini deluxe, both are Roketas

Kidatvs has the DX90 and the Cobra 110cc both are Jetmotos

Which would you recommend and why, feel free to recommend any other atvs from either dealer, these quads are for an 8 year old thats 46" tall and an 6 yearl thats 40" tall and the riding will mainly be backyard or in open fields . I am trying to stay in the $650 range as I will have to have these Atvs shipped out of the US, I live in the US Virgin Islands.

Ok, Im not gonna be harsh, I understand your situation with limited support. I don't care what anyone says on this forum. Chinese is junk!! Period!!!! Thats my opinion and mine only(Its a Union thing). OK, with that said, If you can wrench and you got a good dealer to deal with ,then go ahead. Buy the Chinese, as long as you can get parts for them. I bet you will end up working on it more than you care for. So , if your in the Virgin Islands, I bet they have a crap load of scooters floating around. Try to find a quad maker that does scooters also . Alot of parts are interchangable between the two(i.e. KYMCO). Bottom line, your best bet would be a Taiwan built quad.

Everything from China is junk, is a bit harsh don't you think? Walk around your house & you will see over 75% of your belongings come from China or at the very least have parts that come from China. I think that is unreasonable in the world today to say all things from China are junk. Most Tawainese atvs have MANY Chinese parts & may even be assembled in China with a office located in Tawain.... ALOT of Honda Polaris, Kawi etc etc have parts that came from China, does this make them junk? Zongshen makes Harley Davidson engine parts, BMW 650cc engines are made in the same plant as the Loncin engines many of the imported atvs use, does this make them junk? I think it all boils down to if you are on a fixed budjet, then buy a Chinese atv, but also be sure you are dealing with a reputable dealer such as Raceway or Kidatvs & you will be fine.

Did you try replacing the parts they were going to send you, or did you just get mad that you had to work on your quad. Most quads are started and tested in China then sent to the US, and the box is not opened till you receive it. I doubt your elevation, air quality, etc... is the same as there. All machines need to have a little tweaking done to get them to run prefect for that area. Its not hard to tune them, and if you buy from a good dealer they will help you dial it in. If you buy a Tawainese quad it is from a local dealer. That he doesn't just put it together and sell it, he has to fine tune it.

Well, I did say it way my opinion only. Im not gonna disagree with stuff made in China or from parts from China ,your right, but you also have to be a smart consumer that limits how much exports enter the home.

One of the biggest problem with Chinese ATVs is their lack of suspension...IT IS DANGEROUS FOR YOUR CHILD..

Saving money and risking injury is not something that I will support.

I believe you will see the China products get restricted when laws are passed that rate handling(how easily a product tips over)

China has dependable engines...but the carbs and the electrical stuff can be a pain....lack of quality metal and NO REAL SUSPENSION

Good luck with your choice either way..

If you do save money on a Chinese product please use the savings to buy some protective gear
