help with 150cc atv
#1
appreciate any help with this...Bought my 12 yr old son a coolster atv awhile back,it has always run good with no problems, but for the past week it has cut off while he is driving it and then will not start. It won't even hit a lick and appears to be an electrical problem, because i can pull the plug, even put a new plug in sqirt a shot of gas in the plug hole and still nothing. But after it set for a few hours and gets completely cold it will fire up as soon as you hit the switch. have checked the kill switch to make sure it has not been moved to wrong position but thats not the problem.. It has done this about the last 3 times he has rode it..He cranks it up and rides maybe 5 or 10 minutes and then it just cuts off as if you turned off the ignition switch...Thanks to anyone

my guess would be a faulty CDI, COIL or STATER, and i'd lean towards the cdi unit, second would be the coil, you can buy these reather cheap off of e-bay ,look under kazuma or sunl parts, buy them for the gy-6 clone engine, it doesn't need to say coolster, all the chinese 150's use the same designed engine.

hey i sure appreciate your kindness...I found out that if i push down on the wire that goes down thru the fan shroud it will crank back up, must be a faulty wire or something loose. I assume this is the wire that goes to the cdi, is that correct
