Taotao main-ex 110cc oil change question?
#11
No need to try to get oil into the 14mm plug hole, how would you do it anyway. Just be sure it was just the spring that shot out, as there is a plunger, which has to go the right way round and often a plastic snubber on the end of it that can also get lost. Any engine oil made for motorcycles will do. Personally I would give it a few hours on the maker's oil, they don't intend the engine to fail right away, bad for business, so the oil will be "adequate" for the job, and an oil change after a few hours is a good idea on any new engine.

Hey man - i droppped the wrong bolt - the 14 mm !.... a spring and an steel rod droppped out!... just trying to figure out the right way to insert the rod and assuming the spring pushes the rod in!....there is an end with some wear on it - assuming this goes in first? Hope you can help!!!

Yes, the rod pushes the cam chain tensioner and the spring pushes the rod. I suspect the shape of the rods differ between makers, as it is obvious on some which way round spring and plunger rod go, but not on others.
A little caveat regarding engine oil on new engines, apparently many do fill them with "protective oil" which does need to be replaced with proper oil before use. Strange idea, as the big makers just use engine oil, which surely gives all the corrosion protection they need, and can be used for "running in"
