Kazuma 110 Quad
#1
So, since we have been discussing the kazuma quads here......
My friend has a 110 Kazuma and it wont turn over. His son has only ridden it maybe 4 times. Never ridden very hard, usually with the governor on. He replaced the spark plug but that is as far as he has gotten. Does it need a valve adjust or is there another known fail it could be?

When you say it won't turn over, do you mean that the motor will not turn over using the starter, or that the motor turns over with the starter, but will not start?
If it turns over with the starter, check the wiring harness for loose connections. If the quad has the remote safety kill feature, make sure that the remote kill is disarmed by pressing the button on the key fob several times. If it has the tether cord that attaches to the rear of the quad, check to make sure that the plug is securely installed. These items can cause a no-spark situation. Make sure that the kill switch on the handlebars is not in the off position.
To check for spark: Remove the plug and place it into the end of the plug wire. Hold the plug against the cylinder and turn the motor over with the starter. Look for a blue spark across the gap at the tip.
If you are getting a spark, the next thing to check is that you are getting gas to the carb. Temporarily open the drain screw on the bottom of the carb bowl and look for fuel flow out of the bottom of the bowl or, if present, out of the rubber hose connected to the bowl drain.

He changed the spark plug out and he is a fairly decent quad guy, so I assume he checked for spark. I was just wondering if there was something that these quads were famous for.

Even if you have spark, fuel and air it still may a pain to start if you have a chinese carb because it may not be supplying the right amount of both. i had to play with my carb for a while before i could get my ATV to start in anything under 45 degrees. It still doesn't like the cold weather. I can start my atv easily if I:
1. Take off the seat cover (If thats where your carb is located)
2. Pour Hot water over carb and engine.
3. repeat step 2 until carb and crankcase are warm.
4. choke the crap out of the motor, give it gas a few times to get some fuel in there, press starter and pray.
if that doesnt work, hook your battery up to your car to give the starter a boost and crank it until your starter dies.
