Looking at the other Chinese atv's that have gone with 300 and up the price is upwards of $3-4000, at this price point the great price savings of a Chinese atv kind of goes away! You can find a clean big 4 for $3000 pretty much every where!</end quote></div>

At those prices people wont put up with many failures either.

The engine close is from a Honda XL XR 125-200 1979-1987

With few differences.</end quote></div>

Eugene, Great to see you posting!!

Did they copy everything but the overhead cam? Those engines had a OHC and the Jetmoto motors are push rod engines.

This is why I thought it was a Yamaha but never could find a push rod Yamaha engine either.

Ok, I did some work on the Jet. Ported and polished head, and did some exhaust work. Also polished the valve skirts. Bottom end got a bit more grunt, but where you can tell the difference is when it gets into second gear. Now, full throttle and a quick shift will pull the front wheels a hair... really woke it up in the middle and tall gears. Got a vid coming...</end quote></div>

biskit134, you polished the head and the exhaust port? how polished? mirror like or just smooth out the casting marks? Also did you recut the valves or lap them in? Or did you leave them alone?

Thanks.

MWQ, I polished it on up. Not quite mirror, but pretty slick. As far as the valves, they seated quite nicely, so I just polished the skirts.

I also found on the four stroke forum that Panterra is now Baja, or Baja bought them I think.

Yes I thought it was pretty good to for a chinese quad manual. Also if you look at the parts manual it almost like they copied page for page from the main line company they copied it from.
