Problems With Fuel Lines

Ok i finally found out what was wrong with my new Jetmoto 250. Well when i first received my bike with in days i had to replace fuel filter. I got one from autozone and seemed to be a way better one than the stock one cause it actually had a filter inside of it. Well i thought it was the filter but i disconnected the line and pored a little gas and the flow was just fine.
I installed new jets that raceway sent and and adjusted carb and would run really good for about 5 min and then it would die. I would have to wait for a while before it would turn on again kind of like it was lacking gas is what was my assumption. Well if i put filter on and connect directly to carb man the bike runs like a champ but i would notice that the fuel valve was the problem.
Is it ok to hookup the carb directly to tanl and fuel filter without the valve?
Has anyone had this problem with the valve not giving enough gas?
How should i hook it up direct or buy another valve?

Ya some one else had to ream out the valve with a drill bit. I had one of my 150's gas caps not vent because there was not a hole in the rubber seal which made that quad run for 5 min then shut down till I found that the tank was creating a suction lock and would not refill the carb. A simple drilled hole to the rubber seal fixed it! Try riding it with the cap lose for 10 min or so and see if that fixes the problem. If it was the valve I don't think it would run fine for 5 min before it would present it self and even then it would just run real bad and not completely stop.

Thanks for all the input guys!!! Well i found out that it is the valve that is got giving a good flow to the carb. I ran the line direct to to the carb with the filter on and it runs like a champ. i went ahead and adjusted the carb to where it idles and runs really good. But i did notice that i left it alone for a while and smelled gas went to check and found that line on the bottom of the carb was leaking fuel. Could this be due to the air flow mixture opened to much? I checked the screw on the side of the carb and its tight. i even opened it up and drained a little gas and then closed it and would stop for a bit and then would still drop gas.
So what i did is bent line so no gas would go in until i have more time to fix it.
What could it be does anyone have any ideas?

when you mean adjusted to high do you mean the air fuel mixture screw that on the bottom of the carb? If not what do you mean. So i could probably tap the bottom of the carb with the back of screwdriver as well right?

Being that you have been playing with the fuel line it might just be something stuck in the needle & seat that is causing it! Ride it around and bounce it and if there is something in it should work its way out.
Well you can try shaking and tapping but if the float is adjusted too high it will just drip and drip. I have had to adjust the float on my 150 cus it was doing the same thing. You removed the float bowl before and possibly slightly pressed on the float which could have bent the tab that would make it do this! To adjust the float you need to remove the float bowl and slightly bent the tab so the float does not go so high!
