Go to Walmart, or some of the bigger hardware/outlet stores, for the rear red tail light, and LED trailer marker light (about 1.5 inches across) will bolt up real nice on the plastic right behind the seat, then see if you can find an LED projection lamp for the front, you'd be surpised the light you get from the new hi output LED lights, and they barely use any power. Other than that, you will need a new stator, I ran a regular boat trailer side marker light on my son's LT80 back when he rode one, and a small 35 watt fog light up front, but on a long ride, if you shut it off, the battery was too run down to restart sometimes, there just isn't enough juice there stock to keep the battery up and run lights. I just clamped the light on the handle bar, but James Lucky sells the Maier nose piece with a light built in, looks very nice, but it is a regular incadescent lamp, and requires a higher output stator. If you only use it at night to get back home, then recharge the battery on a regular basis, you might be ok, but that gets to be a hassle after a while.

Default lights on a lt80

Trail tech doesn't make a kit for the LT80 ? I just bought the Raptor 80 headlight kit ($139.00) and its pretty good. the HID light is really bright and low power (13Watts). I also bought a steel bracket for an Oval LED tail light from someone on ebay ($9) and he made it to the size I wanted. I had it welded on to the grab bar and installed a low power (4Watts) LED tailight ($15). I hooked up the running light to the headlight switch. the raptor 80 has a rear brake switch that hooks to the CDI. I removed this connection and put it to the brake light connection on the rear light and as long as he uses the rear hand brake the brake light comes on. I also added a low power (less than 1W) blue LED light for an engine light ($6) that is also hooked to the headlight switch. check out the specs on the LT80 and see what type of Watts the stator can output. does the quad have a battery ? some quads don't have DC voltage systems. LEDs can work on AC systems but they will only be about half the brightness. I don't know if the HID works with AC systems.

Default Brake Light on a Grizzly 80

I just read your post on adding a brake light to the Raptor 80 using the brake switch wire that goes to the cdi.

How did you disable the switch from the CDI and does this affect anything?
Once removed from the CDI, how did you do the final connection? I probed the wire, but it does not show any power to light up a brake light.
I am using a simple 4" LED trailer brake light.
I put Warn ATV lights on the front and these work great, but can not get the rear brake light to work yet.

The CDI has two wires that come out of it that are connected to the switch on the rear brake lever. the connectors are located close to the CDI. remove these connections. leave the two wires from the CDI disconnected and tape them up to the frame. now there should be two wires that go to the switch. connect one of them to +12V (I used the wire coming from the ignition switch so that only when the key was in and turned on did the brake light work). connect the other wire to the brake light. My brake light also came with the running light so I connected the headlight switch to it. works great. I don't know why Yamaha doesn't have at least an OEM brake light installed, seems like a safety problem (leaves the rider open to rear end collisions).

Shawn 440.... A few years back I spoke with Ricky Stator about the Raptor 80's power output, and he indicated that the 80 actually splits it's ooutput, and really only pulls power off one side. That leaves the other side to use for powering lights. Unfortunatley I do not have the info readily available, but you can check with them for details. They even sent me a diagram and instructions, I see no reason why they won't do the same for you.. .ALso you might check with raptor80racing, they have a kit as well.
