Kids quad 50cc Loncin engine...burning out spark plugs
#1
Hi. Just wondering if anyone can give us some advice as to what may possibly be causing my son's wheeler to burn out spark plugs left right and center...it starts great when a plug is added, runs for a bit, and then dies out....any suggestions as to the cause? When we take the plug out, it's black.....

Welcome to the forums Rebmaleuqram.
Possibly the jetting is off on the carb. Are there any mods done to the quad?
You didn't say the year, so is this a 2 stroke? If so, are you premixing the fuel? Not familiar with that model, so I don't know if it has a separate oil tank and mixes the fuel/oil itself. If it does, and you're added premixed fuel, that would cause it to foul out plugs as well.

I agree with ghcoe. Supposed to re-adjust mixture ratio. Now too much fuel. Great start and black spark plug prove it to us. Hope your sun's quad would get over shortly. Good luck.

Don't know if you have a china quad, but you might find good information here.

ok, so how do you adjust the mixture ratio?? We haven't made any adjustments to it.... it just ran well up until a couple of days ago, although he hasn't ridden it too much...3 or 4 times around the house...he's only 4 so he's a little apprehensive about it.
