Well I can't get the ATVs up to the mountains, or anywhere as far as that goes until I sell my existing trailer and buy one big enough to haul all these new toys. Got a prospective buyer coming in about a half hour though. If he buys I'm off to the store to pick one out.

Your on Kman, you almost won today. If I get that trailer I won't be able to take it anymore, I'll just have to load em up and go, chores, sick people, other obligations, etc......... are just gona have to wait . Ya right, Its to cold to sleep in the doghouse.

Changed fuel lines and filter on the V4S today, then rode around in circles in the back yard

Finally got around to investigating the starter button not starting the bike. It was nothing more than a poor battery. After I discovered this I remembered other folks mentioning the stock battery wasn't any good. So, I purchased a new battery and all is good.

Glad to hear that it was just the battery. My father in-laws Hi-Bird 200 did the exact same thing. He called me and said the starter had gone bad and was making a strange noise. I went to his house to check it out and quickly discovered his battery had gone bad. He had hooked up his trickle charger to it and accidentally put the charger setting on 6 volts instead of 12 volts. The charger actually did the battery in, lol.

A quick trip to Wally World, AKA Walmart, and $20 later and the Hi-Bird lives again.

Yesterday I tinkered with the V4S. I checked out how to improve the turning raidius. I disovered that one upper tie rod end was hanging up on the frame. I removed the castle nuts on both sides and cut about 1/8" of thread off each tie rod so there was no possibilty of interfearing with the frame. Of course I couldn't use cotter pins anymore because I cut were the holes were. I went to the hardware store and picked up some M10 X 1.25 nylon self locking nuts. By the way Ace Hardware has a much better selection of hardware than Home Depot and Lowes. Then I filed some metal away from the steering stops. Man that thing turns on a dime now.

I also picked up some jam nuts, again M10 X 1.25 for the rear axle bolts. Theses are the two big bolts that hold the rear axle. I added the jam nuts to prevent loosening.

I changed the oil again, this time I added Valvoline 10W40 ATV oil. This oil is designed for wet clutch systems like the V4s has. Regular engine oil is ok but I like the fact that this oil doesn't have the friction modifiers that can be detrimental to a wet clutchs performance, especially if your hard on the clutch.

Thats what I did with my Vbike V4s today
