Hetrick? Performace?
#1
I just purchased a hetrick power up kit for my Son's Eton 90, I installed the larger main jet, two airbox vents, unrestricted RPM ingnition, 2000 rpm springs and lighter weights on the clutch, Unfortunately the exhaust did not fit and I had to return it, I am still using the stock pipe. The performance is a little bit better but nothing special.
What kind of performance should I expect when I get the pipe installed?
Has anyone installed this kit? how was the performance?
Thanks,
Fran

I do not have any experience on the Eton 90 but as a mechanic I can tell you that you are missing a very key part of that kit, the exhaust pipe. Without the new free flowing exhaust you are just dumping more fuel into your motor with the new jets and while you have enlarged the airbox for more air the exhaust is probably holding you back. You need a free flowing exhaust to complete a kit like that otherwise it will run too rich and your plug will tend to fowl out quicker.....................best of luck................Slydog

Everything I've heard about Hetrick has been good. Like Slydogsrus said, once you get that pipe on there, you will notice a difference.

Ditto what they said. The top speed on my boys 90 predator jumped by 8 mph with the Hetrick pipe/mods.
I did start with the 3 airbox vents but later did away with the airbox completely and went to a straight clamp on filter. I would suggest this as the next mod. Eliminating the airbox and going to a clamp on filter w/rejet jumped the power as much as the other mods did alone.

I took it one step further and did the carb replacement on my son's 90 and your kid will not be dissappointed. Get the 54mm kit and then watch out..of course your lose your reliablity but worth it cause my kid loves to smoke all the other 90's in the dunes!

Dittop:: no pipe= no go.
A carb is in your future but I'd disagree with the 54mm option. You can get the same performance out of a smaller cc cylinder with porting IMO.
JBL:: you must not have ran into one of my motors at the dunes. j/k
