Default stator difference?

i was wondering if there is any difference between the stator on a predator 50 and predator 90? my predator 90 is popping from 3/4 to full throttle. it has a hetrick pipe, koso intake, boysen power reeds, 28mm carb, procom cdi, and a uni pod filter the carb has a 122 main jet in it. it was doing this before i changed the carb though. so i was wondering if it the stator causing my problem or is it a jetting issue?

I really dont know for sure about the stators being different from one another as some sites list them as the same and others list them different. I can tell you that the stator can cause the problem you are asking about as the way the stator is mounted allows it to get covered with water, dirt, and mud very easily. On my daughters Eton 90 which is the same for the most part it would cut out and after taking the carb off and on several times to no avail I ended up checking the stator to find that it was overheating due to all the crud that it was enclosed in. It finally failed to even start and after replacement in runs like new, with no miss throughout the entire throttle range.
I bought mine from RM Stators of Canada, it has the best price and has a warranty and they stand behind there products. They also shipped mine free.

Default stator difference?

my manual is saying they are the same too. the old stator that was on it burnt out so i ordered a replacement and the package it came in said 50 on it and not 90. the one thats on it now is clean as i havent been able to use the machine yet. i am trying to get it ready to race but its driving me crazy. should i just order another stator? i was wondering if it could be the dual stage reeds or even the cdi?

According to the Polaris parts manual, the part number for the 90 is 0451692 and the part number for the 50 is 0450998.

Have you taken the stator to an alternator shop (automotive) to see if they could rewind it? I know those things are a little pricey.

If you have both, maybe they could also tell if there is a difference in the two.
