dstumbough, you are one of the few on here that has that style of 250 (Honda 400 lookalike). Most of the Hibirds owners if not all have the inexpensive $900. jobbie. I was looking at that style of 250 when I first was looking but back then (a year ago) there were no reviews what so ever and now they have even made them look nicer I see by your pics. Your 250 is sold under several brand names as you may know. It would be cool if you started a thread of this particular 250 and gave an in-depth review with some cool pics and possibly some video. I came close to buying two but Jet made me a better deal so I went the route I went with 4 Jetmotos. See my site! http://myjetmotos.8k.com/photo.html
I would love to see some action shots of your 250!

Darrel, That is a nice looking Hi-Bird you have there, I think outofline is right, most of us have the cheaper one. I still gotta put up some pics of the one I just bought, the sticker on it says 250stw, but by everything I can tell, it's a 250st.
I really like the looks of yours much better, those rims set it off nice too.

well I took some pics of the new Hi-bird, Kinda dark pics, the sun was going down. I fixed the gas tank leak, freakin carb is still back firing. I gotta wait till my day off Sunday to mess with it more. The carb adjustment screw is in such a place that you cannot adjust it easily with the carb attached to the bike! Oh and I got some pics of my son's new Typhoon II also. I put em in with my profile pics.
Has anyone ever had a problem with back firing through the carburetor?

Try adjusting the valves. The hi-birds are known to be way to tight from factory. Could explain the back firing through carb if they were also attempted to be adjusted and put back on the wrong timing.

I got it running pretty good, it still backfires just a bit when its first started cold, but in a few minutes its running great. The adjustment screw on the front underside of the carb is located in a spot that you either need to shrink yourself down to about 1 inch in height and put on a asbestos suit to get to it, or buy a special carb adjusting tool for about $30 Tool
I tried to get in there with everything known to man and managed to adjust it a bit. It seemed to help. I had it out the other day for about 3 hours with my son and his new Viva 200PR. It ran great.

Trust I know well about that adjustment screw. I am assuming the 200 and the 250 use the same carb. The engines look almost identical accept for the displacement. I just used needle nose to turn it out but I just turned it out the amount of turns someone else had used and it seems to work good but I should re-adjust it when I get a chance. I would still double check those valve settings just for piece of mind. Get some feeler guages and the valve cover comes off and on real easy just had to loosen up the gas tank on mine to manouver the valve cover out of the space.
