OK, trying not to sound too dumb here, but I have never adjusted the valves on a bike before. what exactly is the gap, and could you briefly describe how to do it? I am pretty good with engines but without formal training, I kinda learn as I go and like I said, never had to do the valve adjustment yet.
Thanks

Not exactly the same but the principal is the same. it will make more sense as you go. I just set mine to top dead center on the right stroke without the marks and it runs fine.</end quote></div>
yes the principal the same but the valves setting are differant, 200-250cc valve clearance should be set at .004 intake and .006 exhaust, the .002 billl2099 mention is for the 50-110 according to the honda manual, still to me that's to tight, should still be .004-.006. the biggest thing when sitting valve clearance is make sure the piston is at tdc on the compression stroke. if you need any more information on how to adjust valves e-mail me at luvmysxs@yahoo.com

Ok, now I can't wait till my day off Sunday to adjust my valves! Is it strange that I get excited and look forward to doing things like that?
What would be a symptom of valve clearance being too little or too much? and is this something that needs to be adjusted periodically, or will it stay put after it is set?
Also....are those numbers .004-.006 standard for all makes 200-250cc?? Or should i be looking for different specs on different brands? Sorry for all the questions, but this valve stuff is new to me, and want to be sure what I'm doing.
Thanks for the help

Hello, I have a 07 hybird and we haven’t had any issues besides finding the rim sizes until now. The ignition control box has gone bad (we think) and I’m having trouble finding a replacement part. It’s been good to us over the years with many trips to the sand dunes once we got front and rear paddles for it. I hope this will help you decide.
