CDI box help needed please
#1
My daughters kazuma 50 is not starting, spudders but not catching.
The carberator has been cleaned, has good spark, fresh gas and good battery charge.
Someone told me it sounds like the CDI box,how can I test this ( I have a meter that has ohms, volts and amp scales) before ordering a new one?
Also,is there anything anyone can think of I may be overlooking?
Thanks for the help.!

I would first try starting it on starting fluid, if it starts and seems to run fine for that first few seconds then goes back to it's spuddering then you know it's not the CDI but a carb problem. I would not rule out valve adjustment also.

you can rule out the cdi unit, the very first thing i do when a quad or a matter of fact almost any engine is hard to start is to adust the valves, two reasons first 75% of the time this solves the problem, second reason you need to elimimate them as a source of the problem, the manual says to adjust the intake at .004 and .006 exhaust
