Hi ricky17, welcome to the forum.

Was the damage caused by the carrier?, sounds like it from what you mentioned.

No i feel like tims scamming the carrier, The seat was ripped from the fit to the body, the carb leaks from the gasket, , the gouges in the fenders maybe, missing bolts and vent tubes are manufactures screw ups. I just lost it when he ask me to run to the store to purchase 9mm bolts and claim the rest of my issues on the carrier. Thats just not right, i paid 2000.00 for this ATV!

Wow, sorry to hear that. Tim has done pretty good so far with warranty issues, hopefully he will make it right with you.

Hey back on.

Got the engine. BTW it came via UPS not USPS. I'll have to double box it for the return though; the foam packing took a beating. There is no way without this packing I could have shipped it back to VBIKE.

details details details
Engine swap while do-able was more than I was up for. Took about 3 1/2hrs.
13 tooth sprocket added
New Chain added
NGK plug added

CHECK YOUR ENGINE MOUNTING BOLTS those things were loosy goosy; they were barely more than tight. I thought I checked them.

The 13 tooth was exactly what this needs. No more clutch riding in first gear.
Real nice usable power range.

Something else; I changed my oil to the M1 4 cycle motorcycle oil on the original engine first day. When I drained the crank case of the old engine is was really mucky. NOTE change the engine oil on the new engine a week or so into it after break in.

I had to take off the left side foot bracket. The welds do not completely seal the tubing and found rusty water pouring out of the opening. I sprayed a huge amount of WD40 into to displace the water. Let it sit over night and finished welding the frame shut the next day. Sprayed it with some paint and put it back on.

Before I put it in I thought nice cold engine, why not adjust the valves right? Just how do you adjust the valves on these engines? The 125cc has the pop off covers at the valves to adjust them with. So I took the valve cover off the old engine to look how to do it. You must have to adjust them like an old VW beetle between the lifters and rods. Bottom line I don't have the clearances to do this so I let the sleeping dog lay.

Overall pretty cool machine. I'm glad Tim met me half way sending me the engine via cross ship. Much easier to send it back now.

Still think I need to adjust the valves and or the carb b/c it's starts hard the first time.

Way to go slydog. Great addition. Thank you.

Thanks for the update Wildwoody.. Glad to hear Tim came thru for you. Try turning the fuel screw out 1/2 a turn and see if it helps starting.

You need to turn down the idle screw to compensate for more fuel being added by the fuel screw.

Are you adjusting the screw on the bottom of the carb?
