Buying a New Kids Quad - Help - Can Am / Suzi / Eton / Artic Cat / Honda
Please help me with my decision to purchase a new quad for my kids. I have two girls ages 10 and 8 years old. They are currently riding a 110cc Widlfire Motors quad that is total junk. I am going to buy new or like new used ATV. I have been looking at a Can Am DS-90 for about 1700 new. That dealer also has a Artic Cat DVX 90 for about the same dollars. I also have interest in the Suzuki LTZ 90 at about $2300, the Honda TRX 90 at $2400, and the eton RXL 90 for about $ 1999.
Does anyone have experience with these ATV's. I'm looking for reliability more so than high performance.

If you can afford it, stick with the Honda. I am partial to them since I own many Honda products. I purchased my sons two Kazuma 110's because I could not afford to spend 5K on two kids quads, but if you can afford it, I would go with the honda.

Suzuki, Yamaha and Honda still make their own minis.
Can am, Polaris, Arctic Cat just use a Taiwan manufacturer and put there own plastic and graphics on them.
Not sure if Kawasaki still makes theirs or just uses a rebadge.

My son has a Eton Viper 90r (reverse) and I have not had any problems with it. The only problem I had was the stator gap setting was way off which I would have trouble keeping it running, but since then not a problem. My son likes to plow it through the mud and it performs great. So maybe I am blessed with a machine that worked for me.
I have read that many will say that if all depends on your level of wrenching ability, and parts availablility.
I have to say that I am sold on Honda because I just picked up a an 84 Honda 200s 3 wheeler that had been rotting away in a barn for the last 15 years and all I did was change the oil and it started right up! My future purchase will be a Honda of some sort.

I agree with the above. If you want a reliable quad that will hold its value stick with the Honda. One thing to keep in mind is the TRX90 is a semi automatic. This is nice, but your kids will have to shift it. Its a very solid machine though.
