Default 200cc Gio Beast bogs in first

Hi all!

I have a 200cc Gio Beast which I've got running quite well thanks to some of the posts here. One little issue I am having is that every so often when reving through 1st gear, it bogs to almost a stall and then takes off. Can't repeat it every time, but every few hits from a stand still.
I have moved the snap ring to the 3rd (middle) position as suggested here, but it is no better (actually made little difference). I believe I have the carb tuned right as I get it to start and run pretty easily most of the time.
I've done the oil change and chain tightenning and spark-plug change to NGK as suggested here. All these things made a difference by the way. The air filter is clean.

Any ideas?

Try moving the 'needle slide' up one notch (richer).

It sounds like it is getting 'too big a gulp of air'. Unfortunately, these carbs are not sophisticated enough to have an 'enrichment valve' which adjusts for this (automobile carbs).

Sorry it took so long to get back... did the clip down thing to allow a richer mix and it seems to have really made a difference. Just wanted to follow up, better late than never.
