need better Lt80 shocks
#1
I'm fixing up my old Lt80 and was looking for some advice on what shocks could be used as a replacement for the standard ones and would suit a 110-120lbs rider.
I'm on a tight budget so was wondering if there's something off other bikes that could be used the fronts shouldn't be so hard to find but has anyone found a good replacement for the rear?

Welcome to the forums Monkeyfish.
Looks like the person I'd suggest is already looking into it.

Last year, I think it was, someone on this forum grafted a Blaster front suspension, dual a arm set up on an LT80, it was the most professional setup I've ever seen, don't know why he didn't try and market it, probably would have sold a few thousand of them.

The dimond j custom co. makes a set, uses 300ex if I remember correct. Ask onebigzj. He bought the kit, tried it, removed it.
I've not heard anyone liking them. You'll find that they make it obnoxiously wide.
There was a thread a lil while back about using (I think) Polaris shocks on the front.
FYI fellas, Monkeyfish is Rich from England. Give him a warm welcome.

I'll try looking into the polaris idea,if that works out ill just need a solution for the rear. Got a feeling I might have to save for a works one tho, they're good right?
Got me one of those trinity exhausts like you said too.
Just one small point, It's Wales., lol

This is been on going for 2 to 3 years , I think were stuck with Works or the CT Racing a arms and shocks, what blows me away is there all kinds of kits I see for the TRX90and the other off brand quad, how did the LT80 become the bastard child of aftermarket Suspention parts??

ATV Racing (atvracing1.com) makes a nice set of arms. PEP will make a set of shocks for ya..$$$$$$$$$$
"how did the LT80 become the bastard child of aftermarket Suspention parts??""
The stupid motor/swingarm. That's my opinion as to why.
I still have a frame on a bench that I was going to use as a jig for a single and dual a-arm set-up. Then I think, you can make the front smooth as heck but the rear is going to break the casings.
I should go ahead with making a single a-arm tho. I was making them to raise the machine 1" along with +3" & 4" wide (each side).
