Default converting breather box to regular air filter

has anyone tried converting breather box to regular air . I heard you can replace with regular kln type air filter and pick up about two horses(horse power) for kazuma 110 baby falcon

I would recommend a UNI filter over the K&N as it has better filtering capabilities IMHO. I put a UNI filter on my daughter's old (and now my son's) Kazuma Panda 110 to replace the stock airbox because it was difficult to maintain the stock filter due to having to basically disassemble the entire back end of the quad and the stock filter was not great quality to begin with.

My daughter just got a Tao Tao 110 and it had the small pod filter on it - since we ride in a lot of sand, I don't trust the paper gauze filters like the stock one on the Tao Tao or even the K&N, so I put a UNI filter on this one as well.

Doing this, you may have to move your needle up to the middle spot (3 up from the bottom or 3 down from the top) and adjust the air screw.

That should be needle instead of need. I edited my post to reflect the correction.

The needle is inside the carb that control low (off idle) to midrange fuel metering. if you move the clip up - effectively lowing the needle further into the main jet - this will make the low to midrange leaner. If you move the clip down - effectively raising the needle away from the main jet - this will richen the low to midrange.

Normally there are 6 slots and from my experience, I have seen the clip on the second slot from the top - I usually set it to the middle slot (3 from the top).

Hope that helps. Do a search, there is a thread on carb tuning for these quads.
